[QUOTE=Don Shillady]It is interesting to me to see the bottom edge of the new firewall of the coupe is straight across!
The bottom has a bend in it pretty close to the stock floor board angle. It clears the bellhousing nicely. I wanted to get as much done as I could before Dave took over with the bodywork. When I get it back next week well when I get it back and bolted down on the chassis, I'll be working on the steering column and the swing peddles - that nice straight bottom might have to be changed a little. I'll just have to waite and see.
First picture shows my mockup with body in place and engine/bellhousing/trans hopefully hanging in the right place. Second picture shows actual setting.

I understand about that "Too old to bend over" stuff Dave!! But I too learned something, sometimes you just have to just stand back and look at things to find a simple way to make things easy.
That is a sweet looking T body, that is going to make a great rod. Keep the pics coming. Is that a sbf sitting on that chassis?"Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

Here's a couple more....I got one side of the suspension back together, steering column mounted, and shift linkage back together. Movin right along....Hey, that Buick V6 looks pretty good! That'll make a cool little rod with todays gas prices.

Thanks, guys. I think the engine's going to stay a stocker other than a 12 volt conversion and a $19.99 glass pack. I've thought about seeing if I can find someone to cut me a set of header flanges and building a header; we'll see. I hope the spring mount works out. I was able to put the springs in without a compressor; I'm hoping that's not a bad sign.

I love my kid but sometimes I want to thump his head; I had a 48 dodge valance panel for sale on Ebay. He came over yesterday while I was at work because he needed a piece of sheet metal for something on his truck. Guess what he cut it out of? No more valance panel.

Dang!!! Sounds like your son is going to learn how to patch valence panels, among other tasks you probably have line up for him!!!!!
Got some work done today, a bit on the coupe, and got the engine and trans out of the Camaro. Got to do a bunch of clutter eliminating under the hood, install the rack and pinion, and start putting the new rear suspension together....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
