well, if it was sitting on concrete you would see that the rear end is sitting about an inch lower than the rear. I can deal with that with tires I believe, but I like it. It has some attitude now and that 400 runs good so I am happy. Now I can get back to work on my '48!"Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

I understand Lt1s10, that is the way it's suppose to go but I wanted to see what it was going to look like. That will be the only chrome on the car so I figure I could sport it for a day or two!"Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

I like it though, I'm not really sure why but I do. There is something nostalgic about it I guess. Not as much as this one, this is way too much for me."Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

as you all know i am building a 1973 porsche 914 with a 935 style body kit the motor is a 1964 283 the bore is 4in and the stroke is 3in. i have 461 double hump heads. with a holley 4160 600cfm carb. i did have a 327 in the car (it was the motor that was in when i got it) but it dropped a valve and upon further inspection i saw that the cylinder wall was cracked. well i called around and it was going to cost $100 to sleeve it i knew where i could get a 283 with pistons and crank for $125 so i bought it i had the heads reworked by a moron and all i ogt back was a set of clean paper weights all the did was resurface them so i took the heads to somebody else and had the valves replaced and new seats well the motor is almost ready to go in all i have to do is bolt on the intake and finish the engin compartment and im going to put it in the car sometime this week im only 16 and this is my daily driver i have done all the work and funding on my own so i am very proud of my car thanks

That sounds like a fistfull of Porche, I had on also, I bought a new '72 914 in '72 and that little car would fly with the stock 4 popper in it. I can't imagine shoejorning a sbc into one. Got any pic's?

Gremlins are myriad and dastardly: primarily, my tach pegs out with key on, even with the engine not running. It started doing this after I removed and reinstalled the coil and distributor. Nothing else has changed, and all the wiring I took apart is in quick-disconnects so I know it's not cross-wired.
Owning a rod means dreaming of finding the previous owner of your car. . . and killing him. The previous owner put in power windows, an alarm, a stereo, remote keyless entry. . . . under the dash it looks like R2D2 threw up.
I just need to buy a Painless kit and rewire the whole thing. Half the exsiting wiring harness is emissions crap.
Any ideas, PM me; let's not get this thread too off-topic.Last edited by Was_II; 03-15-2005 at 10:57 PM.
