She's is really looking good Dave, I must say that is a pretty Ford if I have ever seen on. I like the wheels, they look cool. Got an interior shot, there was a console if I remember right? Very nice work Dave, I remember what it looked like befor you started."Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

Dave the truck is sharp and it's not going to take long to exchange it to the green . Then the Ranchrostang will begin right . Watching that and the Chebby ?? will clear the garage for a couple more projects .

Dave,
The truck is looking pretty nice. I'm planning on stopping on my way out to Sturgis sometime during the first week of August.

Dave the truck looks great. It reminds me of some of the friday night racers we had around town when I was a kid! I like the red painted rails on the bed. It gives it that hot rod touch, and the tail light relocation came out well!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

The gas prices war
OK, this isn't really a build but I believe it's worthy of car guy talk. I went looking for a cheap ultra compact I can drive to work to save on gas. I found this on Craigslist for $500, has a bad clutch and needs tires but ran great and the A/C blows cold. The guy that had this kept track of all his maintenance and oil changes but I guess never heard of soap. This had the filthiesy, nastiest interior I ever saw. The smell about killed me getting it home. I had to take out all the seats to get to all the soda and candy goo, thank God he wasn't a smoker. Definately needs carpet. But for five bills and a few hundred in repairs, I can live with an extensive cleanup. These little Fords get about 45mpg.

You may have to change the carpet to get the smell out . Might have been better if he smoked that will clean up .

Definately. I'm going to check the local late model boneyard. Surely there's an Aspire with a better interior than this. I need to there to look for a spare wheel, anyway.

I really makes me laugh - some of the mfr's are touting 30mpg as so great. My wife's last car, a Ford ZX2 with the Zetec engine was open road 35-37mpg and around town 28mpg. Not sure if that was an exceptional one, but it was a nice car. Even my '97 T-Bird V8 ran 27-28 mpg open road/19-20 town. Now, I have the real 'economy' vehicle as my DD - a V10, 415 ci, 7400# F350Dave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
