Ok, so now are you back on the project???? My Bonneville needs an oil change and a set of plugs, maybe I could just sneak it through your garage and you'd just think it was one of the family!!!!!!!!

That would be a great idea Dave save us some time to do other projects.

What the heck, drop em off! Seriously, I'm ready to hang a "Closed" sign on the garage door. But they're my kids, what are you gonna do?

Eventually the kids grow up, move out, get married, have their own kids, then are too busy to come to see dear ol' dad for their repairs. My closest is 250 miles, the furthest is 4000 miles away, with a couple more in between. I do recall that there was a period of time, ~10 years, that they had their cars lined up waiting for work like a tuneup, a replacement fender(or more) or, in the case of one daughter, a lift kit installed on her Toy pickup. This is a period of time that your cars are in general, left out of the loop but you get over it

You're right, I'm complaining more than I should. I went through a really bad time with two of my kids when I got remarried. It was just them and me for several years, but now there was someone else plus I was getting two stepchildren and they had a rough time with it. They pretty much shut me out of their life for a year and stayed with their mom. It was my oldest son's birthday this weekend and we were all together. All the animosity seems to be healed; we had a great time just being together. They've all seemed to have adjusted and accepted each other; a lot of prayers were answered over the last year. Old cars are great fun but they'll always come first.

No, no, no, - I didn't take it as a complaint, more like a statement of fact - and really don't think you are complaining. My kids range from 42 down to 36......and I miss their "little" projects. Daughters Kim and Kris - both have a laundry list of projects when I visit. Kim's hubby - nice guy, but tools and him - they aren't compatible. Kris, well she is a single mom with a major problem ex.....Jen, well she is still in the UK but moving back to the US by the end of the year(Texas), and for sure will have a list of projects as her husband is still learning about tools. Son David - well, his wife just calls someone to fix whatever while he's out of town.

No, I didn't take it that way, that was more of a self analisys. Sometimes all those little side projects kind of pile up, but it's nice to be loved and needed just the same. My kids range from 15 to 21. Jordan is the youngest, that's his Firebird we just finished. Brittany just started college on a volleyball scholarship (19), Patrick is 18, working at Valvoline instant oil change and making pretty darn good $$ for a single guy. We built him a 69 Chevy truck a few years ago and had a great time doing it. He wants me to help him build a 383 stroker for it so there's another one coming up. Jessica is 21 and has our first grandbaby who just turned 15 months. She and her boyfriend are getting ready to move about an hour away for his job. I dont think I'm ready either.
Sounds like you've got a great family! I cant imagine having your kids living in another country, that must be tough.

Hey, at least their your kids. Im working on my car, my mothers car, occasionally my fathers car, my kid brothers friends cars, my friends cars. Im single and yes im fixing all these cars. WTF?? When do I get to put MINE back to shinyness??

Got a bit more work done on the pickup....and also discovered that somehow I managed to punch a hole in my new aluminum radiator, so I guess it will have to be repaired or replace...just one more delay, oh well.

Anyhow, here's some current pics for ya.

Dave patch it too expensive to replace and im sure its just a small hole. Kid put a hole in FB one this spring have to close it up and solder to keep it prepped for the winter .

That truck is looking great and soon it will be gone to make way for something else for you to bend about .

Also, friend of mine is making some eyeball gearshift knobs out of fiberglass....thought they were kinda kewl! He's going to start selling them soon, both painted and unpainted.... Anybody interested, let me know and I'll fix ya right up!

Tom came over today and brought the frame for the coupe... we got things temporarily put together and spent some time figuring out how the rest of the car should be... Here's a few pics, including one when we couldn't decide which side the steering wheel went on, so we comprimised....... even at our age I guess we need adult supervision......

Well Dave looks like you and Tom are getting it together . Don't look like it will be too long and you'll be opening a stall up . HMMM a open stall that needs a car in it . I know of a few that could fill that in a bit .

I see the maro front is all in prime also you have been busy .
