Progress I Think?
After longer than you want to know, my 46 pickup should see service this summer. Would have been last summer if I had been satisfied with things already done. But instead kept messing with the motor.
Now, I'm messing with the brakes, trying to install some lightweight Willwood units on the front. After that I need to paint the bed (its body work I did this winter), put on some tail lights and roll on.
A few of its particulars: Monoleaf springs on all four corners, Magnum 4 inch dropped and narrowed tube axle, stainless cross steering, Vega box, dropped steering arms, 8 inch Granada rear, full reverse steel rims around, 1956 Ford 292 bored to 305 and lightened with every aluminum item available (they are normally heavyweights), and shorty running boards with self made rubber wraps. Gross vehicular weight should end up around 2800 lbs.
I know a lot of readers dont know what the 46 even looks like. Out of over 10,000 members here, only two of us have 42-47 Ford pickups (also known as jailbars), but I think it will at least be NEAT, maybe COOL.

Heck, it's been a year and a half Jazzstorm and I still get nervous!
What a cage pro60!! I could never even get in there let alone get out. It should be a safe car to run, great looking work.
I would like to see some pic's of your truck 46yblock, sounds like a good one.
My '48 got a new steering column and E-brake lever out of an '89 Camaro today. Engine in and working on altenator bracket"Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

Brickman, I have tried to post the few photos I have with no luck. Either this computer is too slow or the photo files are too large. Will make another attempt in a week or two after a friend comes over to photograph.
The front disc brake conversion is becoming a problem and drain in the pocket.
Today I made my 3rd trip to the machine shop. This time it was the clevis that fits into the brake arm. The clevis' threaded shaft was too big for the new pushrod that goes into the new MC. There is a good chance a fourth trip will be needed. The adaptor for the MC allows it to hang down in the rear, too far down. Returned it to the maker but half expect him to tell me it is to specs.

I have only a few tubes left to go, but they will take by far the longest to install. Something to do with a "Non-Hot--Rod" list of "To-Do's"."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.

Hey, I think nervous is good when your starting out Jazzstorm, it keeps your mind on the right track. Doing it right comes natural to seasoned vets but I have to double and triple check everything!
Just a few more huh Pro70!? Dang man, can't see in there now."Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

i recently changed out the 350 turbo trans in my 55' chevy that had a bad leak ( like 1- 2 qts over the weekend) in it for about a year or so for another 350 turbo that a friend of my dad was going to scrap. it was free and i replaced the usual front/ rear seals, filter, modulator, pan gasket, tv cable, cleaned it up and painted it and swaped it in...hard work when you don't have a lift. runs and drives fine. and no pesky leak!!then i had to reinstall the plastic spedo drive gear on the output shaft cause the retainer clip came off. i also installed a set of lake pipes to continue my custom theme on this car. as for my model A, i 've just been trying to obtain a rear spring and set of headlights for it off e-bay. i keep getting out bid last min. so no luck yet on that project.
