    i love this thread, the inspiration and assistance u guys pass to anyone u can isn't as common amoung us as im sure would have it to be....way to go guys

    U mean to tell me Dave doesn't like chevy's ?!!!! Hmmmmm.....im a GM fan, and tho i have owned a number of chevys, includin 2 SS396 velles, 2 DZ302 Z28's, and 2 Vettes, all of which i had great service out of, as well as my present 4th Chevy/GMC Hot Rod work truck im not a Chevy fan per sa. However im not much of a Ford fan either, besides havin had some of those too. My favs are BOP's and Mopars since in general they are the under dogs and sleepers outside of the track for the Mopars, and period for the BOP's.
    Its good to see that like myself, those of u who do not particularly fan of various brands, yet still respect same and are more than willin to assist the fans of these in any way they can. Thats the sign of a true car crafter and performance fan.
    With That i present my one lone Chevy at present, My Hot Rod Name sake " Mr. Wizard ".
    1992 Chevy Silverado 2whl drv Std cab long box fleetside.
    3.42 GM Corporate 8.5 axle, Built TH350 auto trans with 2500 RPM converter.
    Engine is a 73 Chevy SBC 400 + .030. It uses Manly 6" H-Beam forged steel rods w/ Kieth Black zero deck(meanin that the flat top of the piston crown is even with the blocks deck surface if same has never been decked; in my case .005 above since mine was decked by that amount) Forged aluminum pistons, all balanced using an SFI heavy duty flex plate and an ATI super Dampner. Heads are PRO 1 Irons w/ 2.05 x 1.60 valves straight out the box untouched with Edelbrock plated shorty block hugger headers. Cam is a Competition Cams 300H w/ Rhodes lifters, Crane Gold Full Roller Rockers Hardened push rods and PR Guide plates with ARP screw in studs. Intake is an Edelbrock EPS dual plane with an Edelbrock/Carter AVS electric choke carb atop a modified single Stage wet plate Nitrous System. The dist is a stock GM HEI housing spun trued w/ GM heavy duty HEI breaker which triggers an MSD Digital 6 which has 2 step rev control and single step retard control hooked to the nitrous system which is set at 150BHP. these features are all dial adjustable with the MSD Digital 6. The exhaust is 3" stainless steel custom w/ Flowmaster Dual Chamber 40 series mufflers and Dual 2.5" Stainless Steel exh pipes, system has an H-Pipe fore and aft of the mufflers. This equalizer exhaust pulses within the exhaust pipes and again within the tail pipe. The system is custom built with both exhaust pipes along the right side of the truck and the 2 muffs tack welded together standing on their edges after which the tail pipe for the right side crosses over to exit to the left, while the left exits to the right, this to equalize the lenth of both sides of the exhaust compensatin for the left exhaust crossing over to the right just aft of the cross member for the trans. The truck averages lw 14's hgh 13's on mtr on 93 octane Sunnoco, and runs solid hgh to mid 12's on spray, yet achieves 12mpg city 16-17 hghway. All races have been run fully capped exhaust on BFG TA Radials(275 x 60r x 15).
    The engines power band is from 1800-5800 RPM but will pull strong to 6500 should i need it to TQ and BHP peaks occur at 3900 rpm and 5700 rpm respectively. The engine makes a solid 428BHP and 502 lb/ft TQ. The relatively hgh tq makes the engine pull as if it makes approx 40bhp more than it actually does and has an extremely flat power band from 3600-5800rpm. Even with all this hot rod equipment in and on the truck it remains my primary dailey driver year round, and is actually still a very effective work truck. i haul engines, trans and such for myslf and customers, i also do yard work in summer , snow removal in winter and scrap iron runs, anything a TRUCK is supposed to b used for.
    When i 1st built the truck i used the edelbrock TBI conversion system which turns the TBI into a multi-point EFI w/ 8 injectors. i was able to retain all the comfort and convienience Feature as well as all the stock gauges in the dash, and the cruise.
    Keeping the 700r4 trans tho turned out to b a bad move, built 3 including the original stock one but anytime i hooked the truck solid on spray the trans was done soon thereafter and thats why i went with the TH350and that cost me my speedo and cruise.

    Got another decent weekend of work in. I got the whole top sanded; I'll never complain about sanding a car again after doing this thing. It's relentless but at least I'm seeing the end in sight. Also found a guy with a 8' brake so I got my front piece bent. I got these quad headlight assemblies from a 68 Dodge and these trim rings from Ebay; hopefully we can put it all together and make something. Also painted the back of the rear quarter pieces with POR-15. These bolt on; I hope the coating will keep them from rusting in the future. I'm going to do the same on the back of some other bolt on pieces.

    Coming along quite nicely, Falcon! That sucker must really get big when you start sanding on all those long panels!!!! The new front should look good, going to work some parking lights in there someplace??? Can't leave anything stock, ya know!!!!

    You aint kiddin, Dave. I'm not even going to attempt to get the roof perfect; you need a ladder to see it anyway. I'm still thinking about what parking lights to use. Something much smaller for sure.

    Falcon I like the new headlight scheme . The round is also a lot better then the square ones from the 70.s. Great work and eye sight .
