Well like you said the desoto has made it this long and she is still solid. The doors open and close like they did when they were new. Did i mention this is a two door sedan? There is alot of potential for it and if it takes another 2 years before i have the chance to start on it then it takes another 2 years. But I don't forsee it taking that long to get started.

What a great blue northcarolinada, very sweet work. Ya, with that blue the "Sore Thumb" factor is extremely high!

Very nice ride rocknrod, your looking awesome! I am working to get my engine looking like that, very nice.

I didn't make our show because of outside forces but I am primered and my buddy's even through a couple stripes on there while I was at work. I have been cruizin' her around town and so far she's doing great. I have the new carpet and the console almost done so the interior will be my project for this weekend. I have already had more fun in that old chevy, all the work has been forgotten, now I want it done!! What really great fun this hobby is eh boy's?

    Don't want a Coupe, I want a Roadster!!!

Well, everybody left me alone today so I got to work on my stuff....Sometimes that's dangerous. Sorry if anyone is offended, but I turned my '27 Coupe into my '27 Roadster. I'm going to put in on a pinched Deuce frame with the nailhead motor and the quick change rear. I guess I just like roadsters better. Going to take it to the guy who does my blasting, then get to work building a cap for the body and a windshield frame. I'm also going to fab up a track roadster front and a hood top.

Great idea Dave. It'll look way better as a roadster than it would as a chopped top coupe or even a telephone booth coupe

Had to have another roadster, the old gang is planning a trip to the LA Roadster show for the spring of '07, should be about 15 cars from this area all going there and all roadsters. Couldn't stand the thought of missing the trip cuz I had a coupe!!!!!!

Today was the first time in a long while I've been able to work on the "Z". Didn't have too much ambition after the weekend festivities, so I'm turning some "T nuts" on the lathe to be used to bolt the mid plate in place. "T nuts'' will slide through the 1''x2'' and 1''x1'' square tubing I'm using so the tubes don't collapse when I tighten 'em. Decided to use some square tubing to frame the firewall so I'll have a flat surface for the aluminum. Aluminum firewall will be sandwiched between the square tubing and the mid plate so It'll all fit together nice and clean. That's the plan anyway.

I gotta' finish tackin' in chassis parts from the firewall forward. Then it's weld 'er up time. I spent the better part of the day (Didn't work too hard) on these t-nuts for the mid plate. (I looooze' track of time when I run the lathe). HEHEHE Next weld 'em in, drill 'em 1 size bigger and tap for cap screws. Maybe that's why it's takin' me soooo long ........... I spend time on the most insignificant things sometimes. Well,....... if they keep the engine from fallin' out ... I guess they're not too insignificant

This may be it for July. Lotta' ironz' in the fire this month.

Yup, but the insignificant things are what make a car stand out from the crowd. Even if 3/4 of the people who look at the car don't even began to see all the little details, the guys who know cars will notice all the little things.
