The new Bluesmobile
Nice picture TL. That's how I plan to drive mine. Should I paint the front doors and roof white? It cost me $200 without the engine and trans. There's a Mustang 5 speed in the trunk along with a bunch of heavy spare parts that I have to take out and it's still level. Nice heavy duty cop suspension. It's almost ready to go. I got a problem though so I'm going to post a thread on it and see if someone can help me out.
I was just looking at the title that came with the car. It was titled to the Dept of Treasury, Fleet Mgmt. Trenton N.J. So it's not an IRS car like I thought.Last edited by The Al Show; 06-03-2004 at 07:04 PM.

Body work on the '50 is nearly compleate, going to clean the gas tank out, flush all of the fluid systems and put a new exzaust on and then, some glass for the wing windows and, it's going on the road. I want to drive it and restore it/ rod it at the same time.You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Too bad you don't have anything going on Hambisket! Man! You have to be a hard worker.
Thats a nice ride for $200.00 Al Show, what a clean cruiser, don't need the pony tranny in the trunk though!
Wiring is what I have to look forward to yet Stu, but there are some really cool stuff out there now. I love that fussblock you found, very cool.
I am still working on chasis, I got my new steering column in and tomorrow the seats will be mounted permenantly since I can set them now. I have figured out a way to use my stock pedals for a power brake set-up. It will work and save me $150.00 for something else.

Well as it turned out the swap didn't go thru as I misunderstood what he wanted. I thought that he needed the tranny for his '72 Chevy pu to pull his trailer- but he wants a 4 wheel drive transfer case hooked up to it ( different tranny) which I have but that's going to have to be a better deal than just the 700 R 4 we were going to do.
So I still have the nailhead & tranny only now I have it on the shelf in the hut.
Yes the 67 Cuda's a sweet ride & I wish it was mine, but alas it belongs to a customer that won't sell it. But the Riv.'s mine and I have PLANS for her. I'll post some pic.'s as soon as I figger out how to do it.Jim

Ok lets see here, I've been purchasing quite a few parts for the Firebird lately and I'm getting pretty close to having everything I need. Here the last 3-4 months, I've gotten a new wiring harness, disk brake conversion kit, B&M Ratchet shifter, a flowmaster exhaust (sounds awesome too! ), front turn signal housings, head liner, dash (used, and need it to repair the butcher job somebody did for a stereo install ) and now I am in the process of ordering the front end rebuild kit and front turn signal lenses. Once I've go those, the car should be ready for the rest of the interior, body work and paint. Then.....SHAZAM!! she'll be done, and I'll be broke. I can't wait!!
As for the Cameo, I installed the new front bumper here a couple weeks ago and also installed the electric fuel pump and new carb within the last couple months. I also replaced the plugs and wires and replaced the header gaskets as well. I've gotta put the tach in here in the next week or two. After that, I've gotta put the rear bumper pieces back on (had 'em re-chromed a while back and been too lazy to get 'em on ). Then, the all I should need to do is give her a tune up, change the oil, put some fresh gas in it and drive.Sometimes NOW are the "good old days"...

Have'nt really done anything to my new project lately.
Which is a 1965 ford ranchero, I'm having troble locating full bed fenders. I don't want to just install skins on it. then I also need to find a set of wheel tubs factory looking and a plate or panel for the inside of the tail gate. I did just find a small block C6 trany for it though, It deffinately needs, darn thing [ C4 ] slips like crazy and jumps in to gear on it's own,Which the old fords were known to do. Then I want disc brakes all around. Body first, body first, body first. Gotta stay on track,get excited about all the things I want to do to it. I've been building forms for cement behind the house, so I'll have plenty of room to work on that baby with a bay pit and all.

The goat is coming along nicely just waiting on $$$ to finish the short block up. All block work is done the crank/rods/pistons are in it the jesel is on the front and i am broke
I'll be working on the body again tommorow fishing up the alinment of all the fiberglass parts(seems like i have been alining for 2 years now )
but its really starting to look like something now!

Alot of us have a common theme, being broke! Will not broke but not able to part with money for the rod though. It is as vara4 said that it is hard to not get ahead of your self. I am very impatient myself, it is hard to just sit by and watch the car collect dust which I have only done for a week or two during the winter. I am coming to the time where I'm getting into the large ticket items and thats where its going to get hard.
I want to thank everybody that has posted here at this thread, it is a ball to know how everybody is doing. I hope that you all are enjoying it too.

Still Monkeying around on the 37 , just doing some
body mods on it and fitting and adjusting everything before I get to doing the body work.
I extended the front fenders to give it more eye apeal because I'm not running bumpers.

I'm just glad we have a great site like this to come to and ask for help if we need it or help others if we can. I've always liked tinkering around with cars,and am glad to find others that like the same thing. And most of the people here have more experince then I do. and god knows I need all the help I can get. Right now I've got 20 things going at any givin time,plus I work 12 to 15 hours 6 days a week. So I have'nt been able to talk with all my buddys on here like I would like too. Got off work yester day and thought I would get on here for a while and see how every thing was going. got the old dreded phone call the new Suburban I just bought two mounths back blew the trany last night . So I had to go get the family last night. When I got to them I stated up the suburban to hear a load grinding inthe trany. Seems my Denise was trying to show this guy in another car how well that Vor-teck moter would run [HE! HE!] God love her I would have done the same thing. Just glad see did it instead of me, I can use this to my advantage later when I break some thing. You know what I mean [ honey I know I broke it, but remeber when ] HE! HE!HE! Just throwing some tips out for the yonger guys.

Has anybody done repairs on old fuel tanks? I am just wondering what the best way to fix one would be? It's long dried out so welding it wouldn't be a problem, I was just wondering if I could fiberglass over it without it leaking. Any comments Guys?

If your really sure there are no fumes or gas in it, grind it around the hole then take some toluene and wipe it down real good to get any oil or debris/rust /junk off of it. Then weld a new plate of metal over the hole/ weld in the crack. Now If your not able to do this,there is another way. Don't laugh ok. Some one on the highway lost a crow bar, Guess who found it. Well I did'nt have a lot of time because I use the car for work every day. So I did'nt want to pull the gas tank. I drilled a hole where the crow bar cut it so vibration would'nt crake it any further. Then I cleaned the metal real good around the hole . I then scewed a short bolt in to the hole [ just snug ] . Then I put JB weld around the bolt and let it dry. The next morning went to the gas station and filled it up. No leaks and thats been almost 5 years now. Hope this helps you.
