Still messin' with the Cutlass..... If anyone is bored and wants to share some way big fun time, I'v still got to get the entire 10 point roll cage sanded and primed!!!! I know how much fun doing this is, but being the unselfish guy that I am I'd let one of my CHR family members share in it!!!!!!!
Anyway, the new dash and console is coming along, made the mounts for a pair of 'maro bucket seats, found a couple "surprises" on both lower quarter panels and have them almost whooped. I think I've welded 100 drilled holes in the car, floor, trunk, firewall, you name it! Chad and the boys must have had a lot of different things mounted in the car over the years, and never used the same bolt holes twice!!!!!
Should just about be ready for final blocking and some sealer next week, I hope!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I was quite pissed off earlier today, now I'm calming down since no point feeling bad too long about something I can't change. I've been chomping at the bit to complete installation of the new 427 Dart "SBC" I have and the last piece I'm waiting for other than fitting up the exhaust is the Sanderson full length headers. So a box arrives today and I'm thinking "these could be full length if one were a Lilliputian" but when I open the box they're not Lilliputian full length, they're the wrong fricken block huggers...errrrr I call Sanderson and as soon as I tell him my name he knows mine are on the shelf, and the best I could get was ship correct ones today via 3 day air so no startup until about Monday.

That sucks, Nick. Looking great, though. Dave, the Cutlass looks cool, too. I was just eyeballing a basketcase 69 Cutlass big block/4 speed convertible on CL a few weeks ago. If only I had more space/time/money.

Here are a few pictures (if they come through) of my Engine (which is finally installed-I just ordered my new Concept One Pulley System for it today, they are having to make a Custom Crank Pulley because of the Crank Trigger), and I'm also working on my Interior (I will be putting in Lizard Skin and Dynamat in the coming weeks)-it's coming along S-L-O-W-L-Y-Last edited by 35WINDOW; 03-13-2013 at 08:59 AM.

Dave,
So nice to talk to you-as for time frame, I am hoping it to be done (of course depending on Upholstery and such) in 2014 (I'm giving myself a little leeway here)-btw, thanks for the compliments, it's not done so I'm not certain that I am worthy-
As most here would know, it's been: find a part you like, try to install (won't fit), try again-2nd try, finally make it yourself, (still won't fit), 3rd try, finally get it close (fits better but not what you want, cuss a lot-try again), 4th try, finally got it-
I have really had my eyes opened, and with so very little amount of parts that just bolt on it continually amazes me-getting the Engine/Trans in was an "ahh" moment, and while it seemed like I would never get this far (and still be alive!), with this progress it's getting the juices flowing again-am I a sick man if I just go down to the Garage, sit in the Seat and make engine sounds?Last edited by 35WINDOW; 03-13-2013 at 11:45 AM.

That injection setup is just flat drop dead kewl!!!! Really first rate work on the whole project, very well done!!!!!
As for patience, I've improved on mine over the years to the point that I enjoy taking the extra time for one more re-do, or just looking at an "engineering opportunity" for a few days and work on something else on the car. Found that if I just stay at one problem till it's done, regardless of the frustration level, I usually end up with another re-do anyway!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Dave, thanks so much for the compliment, you guys are making me blush! By the way, I LOVE your Cutlass!
As for "Engineering Opportunities", I get in trouble all the time because I'll be sitting at Home thinking so hard about how I'm going make that Bracket or whatever, and my better half will say something to me and I will be in such deep thought that I don't hear her-she thinks I am getting old-timers', and I don't dare tell her what I'm thinking about, as she thinks that she comes after "that Metal in your Shop" and "the other Mistress" -seriously though, I am always in varying degrees of trouble-as Bill Cosby says: "I've seen the Bosses Job, and I don't want it"!Last edited by 35WINDOW; 03-13-2013 at 04:50 PM.

Dropping in to say hi to my friends at CHR? Been awhile. Again. But life is just a flash of busy one day, busier the next.
Well, I've done it. Finally added my dream car to the garage. Got my kids taken care of. Now it's my turn. Still going to finish the 36. But it will be later than sooner. I wanted something I could drive now. Soo....I enter the world of big blocks again.
But now I have to figure out why I've developed a mid level knock (cold or hot)(any rpm), and a horrible vibration. Suppose to be a fresh 396 with 4000 miles. I hope vibration is not related to knock and just a bad flywheel, torque converter, pinion, or even better. And I hope knock is simple as loose rocker and not piston to valve clearance issues. I'll sort that out over the next few days.
Pat made me do it!!!!!!! That what I told Lisa.
Oh and thank you CHR for making a change. I can now upload pics from my iPad.
