Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?

Well, since you asked so nicely.......(remember, you asked for it!)-
Seriously, I do not want to come across as one of those guys that "crows" too much (so, if I do, someone PLEASE tell me and I'll stop!)-
Please view these Photos as coming from someone who has too much time to think about things, and not from someone who knows what the heck he is doing
So, without further ado (and you can turn the Channel whenever you'd like), here are a few pictures of my Trunk. It is certainly not finished, as I will have the Upholstery Shop do more to it, but you can at least get an idea of "maybe" what I'm trying to accomplish-
First off, as most of you know, a '35 Ford 5 Window did not come with a "Trunk" per se-they were known as a Business Coupe, for the Fuller Brush man and the like, so they were open from the back of the Driver's Seat to the Trunk lid-I wanted a Trunk and a flat Floor (and, I wanted access to the Fuel Sender/Filler/feed lines, so I did this:
I made a flat floor with 1" X 1" tubing, and insulated it.hen, I convered the Tank opening with a cover that I Dzus fastened to the 1" X 1" Frame( for safety):
I have since changed the Fuel Lines to one with a return for the EFI-that is a Rock Valley Stainless Tank that I had polished:

I insulated over that Cover (and selaed it with aluminum tape), and then I made covers (I countersunk the socket head bolts) for the front and the back of the Frame (so that I could access the Tank):
I decided to make Aluminum Panels for the Trunk out of .060 6061T6-
I took the back panel into work and used our 40 Ton press to emboss the 1/8" "V8" sign that I had waterjetted, and used 2-1" thick plates and some 80 durometer hardness urethane to press this into it (believe me that was an education in itself):
I used Dzus fasteners to make everything easy access, and, it came out like this(and no, the Carpet is NOT staying!)

I wanted a remote Trunk Latch (and I needed some sort of "Poppers", so I made this (it may look like it's "off", but it is the Camera angle:
I had to modify the Trunk Lid for the Poppers (to be able to push on, and make a Striker for the Latch:
Ok, I will stop now, and you can cry Uncle-thanks for looking!Last edited by 35WINDOW; 06-04-2013 at 10:09 AM.

Looking good. The 36 5 window I had many moons ago the trunk lid was reversible so that it could be a trunk or a rumble seat, is yours the same?Ken Thomas

Mine had all of the hardware for a Rumble when I got it (that is a Wescott's Fiberglass Trunk Lid btw),so yes, it did-as crazy (stupid?) as it sounds, I could not envision someone stepping on my Fenders to get in the back, as I did not want those step platforms (I wanted a clean rear)-here it is (I have since flush mounted my tailights to keep it clean-

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
