Everybody on here was super tolerant of him, and even went so far as to try to make amends after the first go round, but communicating with him is like spending a day at the local Psych Ward. I personally will never respond to any of his future posts because I think he lives for the thrill of getting a rise out of people. We are just feeding whatever sickness there is in him when we respond back to his posts. I sort of put him in the same category as those sicko's who create a virus on the internet, just to get someone to notice them.

Once again, sorry.

no need to be sorry. its not like i never hijacked a thread. anyhow i am just going to remove the wood and get the body stright, and look for a couple parts.i think i might do the full body and build it pro street style. havent really decided yet.

The body looks really pretty straight. I had to look twice to tell it wasn't a Ford, but I reread you posts and saw it was a Chevy. One thing is that it is nice to have something a little different than everybody else, and you don't see as many Chevys of this era as Fords. That in itself makes it worth doing.
I think you did well. If I can offer a suggestion on the leftover parts you are trying to get rid of, put them on ebay. Some restorer will be looking for them and you will get more for it than you would ever do locally. I sold a boat engine that I couldn't have gotten $ 200 for locally for $ 450 on ebay, and he paid another few hundred to get it to Minnesota. You get a huge audience and it is very targeted. People who see it are people seeking parts with the description you use.
Good luck, and if any questions arise, just let us know. We promise not to start talking about space ships or the 1936 World Series and hijack you again.

PS: Post some more pix of the different angles of the car, I for one would love to see more of it.

yep, 3/8 NPT
My fuel line is 1/2" so I do need 3/8 NPT fittings.....
On another note I solved a problem that had been looming overhead..getting plates...
You see in its current form it would never pass a State Inspection
nor would it qualify for antique plates based on appearance;
nothing safety related ,mainly cosmetic ie: snorkel scoop,guages on hood,
lots of Emmissions,no defroster or heater ,weld draglites ,etc,
Well, I found a car just like mine (same color) that is bone stock. The State will get pics of it & I'll get antique plates !!

Resized the rear window opening on the Merc. IMO the window was disproportionately large, it had not been modified from the stock Merc size when the top was chopped on the original steel car. The big window also detracted from the lines coming down off the roof to the trunk. I'll get some pictures of it when I have the rear part of the roof back in primer.....Should be working on it tonight, but we race on Thursday night, so it's race car maintenance tonight...Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
