Lowest cost method for shipping a bare block?
Hello All:
I'd like to hear your experiences with and comments for low cost shippers. I have a bare engine block to transfer from N.M to Oregon. At 140 pounds, I'm outside of the maximum for AMTRAK and Greyhound and am penalized by UPS and FedEx for "overweight". At this point, I'm looking at trucking firms but they aren't too inexpensive either. I've put items on a car carrier before and had good sucess as long as the item being picked up and delivered was in their planned route. I doubt whether this area of N.M. is on anyone's regular route.
Thanks for your help!
