Subject: T-Turtledeck
The separate '22-'25 replica turtledeck is still available from Speedway Motors for $250 as well as ready-made T-frames. A good metal turtledeck may be hard to find?

I keep puttin' my foot into it, I forgot TPI is a sponsor. I looked at their turtledeck and it is only $215 but not hinged. They have a nice picture to show what a turtledeck is. I also looked at their '29 body but it is out of my price range. While we are on T-buckets, "we" now know about the neat trick Streets used to control the blower drive with an A/C clutch. My question is related to what happens when the blower is off and just part of the intake. Are the roots rotors restrictive enough to help the 18 mpg or would you expect to get 18 mpg with a 383 and a 2.79:1 rear gear anyway? Maybe the way to solve my problem is to keep the 2.79 rear but build a SBC 383, then 18 mpg would be worth the gas. Is there a previous thread telling how to notch the bottoms of the cylinders in a SBC 350 for the longer stroke; is there a template or do you have to assemble the crank, rods and pistons to check for interference, disassemble, grind, check again etc. or is there a way to measure the notch once?

Well it would seem I did not get a "straight" answer; maybe that rod came out of a "Bentley"? Seriously, what are the pitfalls building a SBC 383 regarding rod cleanance? Any articles on clearencing the rods in a 350 block?

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
