doctors coupe rear choices???????
ok so before any of you guys shoot me down in flames ima explain the deal.....
I'm buildin a 'glass bodied(heavens to mercy a non steel car) doctors t coupe (purely cuz ya cant get a real one here in the UK)....i got a set of modified deuce rails that she sits on jus sweet.....
ok to my point....
I have access to a freshly built 351 cleve and trans....
i wanna know what rear is best for this setup... i dont wanna go the usual 9" route, was thinkin more of an olds rocket or pontiac trans am rear of which theres a guy here whos got plenty of both... anyone got any suggestions ie best rear, best ratio unit etc??
and what sort of power does the 351 put out????
jus thought i'd get stuck into this project while i'm waitin to get the trans from my buick back......and as they say, the devils hands...(ya kno the rest)...
and before anyone starts raggin on me bout the fact its a glass car not a real one...bite me...8TH ANNUAL RATFINK PARTY & KUSTOM KULTURE EXTRAVAGANZA - 21TH JULY LOS ANGELES COUNTY RACEWAY, PALMDALE CA.

What gear ratios are best depends on what ya wanna do with the car. Cruizin or draggin or some of each? The 351C can be built to make plenty of power, the Boss versions could be just plain nasty. They will rev and a lower gear will take advantage of that. How much does your coupe weigh? Prolly not a lot if it is glass. And is it auto or stick? Hard to make recommends without all the info
PatOf course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

yeah..sorry bout that...my mind was kinda fried when i posted...jus finished niteshift..bah!!
ok the coupe weighs prolly around 700lb(i suck at weights)...glass coupe body, ally floor, deuce rails, beam front, wheels etc...but not heavy at all...
the 351c is a freshly rebuilt bone stock unit, that comes with a stick trans... the idea is to have a nice cruisable car yet still be able to have some drag fun...
dont want no hemi hunter jus a driveable rod for these sh*tty roads....with some balls when i give the go pedal a stomp.8TH ANNUAL RATFINK PARTY & KUSTOM KULTURE EXTRAVAGANZA - 21TH JULY LOS ANGELES COUNTY RACEWAY, PALMDALE CA.

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
