I had a '55 2 dr. wagon once. Never finished it tho. Got the frame off, Sandblasted and hat was about as far as I got. www.artmorrison.com makes a Tri-5 chassis. Looks like a triangulated 4 link rear w/IFS front.

    Got Pics. ?

I have a '57 2dr wagon that's mostly stock and a '55 2dr post with new everything that I just put on the road so I can compare the two.

The first thing I would do is go for a polygraphite front rebuild and a sway bar. The aftermarket is flooded with front end parts so clips and subframes are really no longer necessary. I would go to a rack and pinion steering system instead of wasting time and money on a bulky 605 conversion. drop spindles, airbags, coilovers, tubular a-arms...sky's the limit. The '56 2dr wagon is my favorite of the 3 years. Congrats on your find.

I have plans on painting it Black or maybe a 2 tone combo but thats down the road. The suspension is first. What brand rack & pinion do you guys think is the best and what about drop spindles, disc brakes and tubular control arms, springs.I think thats about it for the front end. There are so many brands of aftermarket parts out there its crazy.Good Guys is coming up soon here so i would like to get some ideas.Thanks.

It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.
