Specialty tools....What's in your garage?
Figured it would be interesting to find out what specialty tools people have in their garages...If nothing else, it will help us create our birthday present lists...
For me:
- 30" combination shear, brake and roller.
- Metal shrinker & stretcher tools. (have about 1" mouth)
- Hobart Handler 170 welder with gas.
- Drill Press
- General assortment of grinders/cutters.

Hmmmmmmmm! Sometimes hard to know what's "standard assortment" and what's "specialty".
For doing what we like to do here's a few I've got that I think are very useful, and nice to have:
Lincoln 110 mig and auto darkening helmet
80 gal compressor, 24 cfm @ 100psi (volume is most important)
Laser level
Protractor gauge with magnetic base
Plasma cutter (once you have one you wonder how you got by without it)
Boom hoist
Bead blast cabinet
Various sized HVLP spray guns
Porta-Power kit
Drill press
Phoenix vacuum bleeder
Digital VOM
Assorted engine/transmission stands and carts
Newly enlarged garage with HEAT!!Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

I just got my new solvent tank set up last week and have already used it like five times. My other new toy is a 12 ton shop press, bought it a few months ago. I don't know how I ever got by without it. I also have a big old Marquette engine analyzer and a hand-held oscilloscope which comes in handy when working on the newer stuff. Plus the usual drill press and torch and stuff.

Well...
I have a few tools, nothing really all that special to speak of...
What is amazing though is that no matter how many tools I have it seems that the tool that gets the most use in my garage is a sanding block!!!

Mine is mostly woodworking related tools as I do finish work on furniture and boat wood for a hobby. Ya know, the 20 coats of hand rubbed marine varnish on that teak or oak trim that makes a boat look soooo good!!
But hey,,, now I can can add all those neat tools Brent has in his garage too, right son-in-law.

Depends on wich shop your talkin about, the money makin shop or the play toy shop at home....
The play toy shop

mag buzz box
smart level
home made 4 ft. sheet metal brake
bead roller

The money makin shop has all the normal auto repair stuff and all the electronic stuff, scanners, dual trace lab scope, gas analyzer, office p.c., Laptop, etc. etc. and this place has been here since 1926 so theres tools back there that I have no idea about, and one shop may have stuff from the other at any given time......
