    67 Camaro Rear End

I'm just starting to put back together a 67 Camaro that my son and I stripped completely down. We're going to be putting back in the 327 rebuilt to about 350 HP. We currently only have the original 10 bolt non posi. Not knowing anything but enough to get me in trouble, I think this is way to much power for the rear end. I've been looking to replace with a 12 bolt posi, but all I keep seeing is $1300. I hear a lot about the Ford 9" posi as a cheaper replacement. (I went to the currieenterprises web site, but got lost with 9+ unit) Any input from someone on this? If I did go to a 12 bolt posi, what would be a good gearing for just around town driver that I can stomp on every once in a while? Could I just put a 10 bolt posi in this housing and would it hold up? Thanks for any help for this novice.

The 10 bolt you have should be plenty strong enough for the HP you'll be putting out. I would just pick up a limited slip unit for it and go with that, up to you. A ford 9 inch is a very good rearend but could also cost you alot of money too, 1200 dollars isn't out the question for a well built 9 inch. I have about a 1000 dollars in my chrysler 8 3/4 inch, and got the housing for free and the limited slip chunk for 150. If you go with a different rearend than chevy built you will likely need to have it cut down to fit your car, buy new axles to fit and all of the other parts that go inside such as gears and bearings, it adds up.
If your lucky you might find a good 12 bolt for cheap if you can find someone with one just hanging around. Even if you need to get a Limited slip chunk you can come out ok.
Take a look in some performance catalogs for gears, axles bearings and such for rears and the price really adds up quick.

I'm also in Jack's place re: a rearend.
    I have a 67 camaro rs ragtop.
Just built a 358 to about 400 hp.
Is there any $ reasonable way to beef up the existing 10 bolt.
I will be changing it out in about a year for a 12 bolt or a 9"
I want to be able to lite em up.
