4-door conversion to 2-door 55 chevy
I am interested in converting a 4-door 55 chevy to a 2-door. I had kept several old magazines with articles about doing this, but they were lost while moving. I don't even know which magazine the articles were in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jeff, go into your "User CP" (top of the page on the Forum bar), in there you'll find the edit function where you can release the ignore command.
For both of you..................the smartest way to accomplish this is to sell the 4 door, buy a 2 door. Anything else will take time and not improve the value of the vehicle, plus it will look odd.

Man, that Streets got a plan for everything !!!! What a concept!! Bob's plan is a good one. Or, keep the 4 dr for a parts car and buy a 2 door. But, if ya got lots of time, that Streets deal would be kewl.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

If you're going to cut it in half why not use the back half of a 57 Chevy. They got more chrome. Use the roof from a 57 Buick or Olds with the three piece rear window.I don't think you'll have to climb over the seat because you'll be driving from the back seat.
Maybe you could put a rumble seat in the trunk. They made a kit for this back in the 50s
Otherwise I'm on board with the "rat rod gasser" look.

You could always just weld up the back doors....??
I reckon that short 55 is an awesome lookin bit of gear, section it and it's almost a the same as what Ford did to make the T bird aint' it??
Anyone get the idea no one is taking this one seriously????
