Comments on the Gospel according to Gasser
your spose to drive em!!!id rather fix dents then holesthe people who do have trailer queens whats cool about thatthats liek the complete oppisite of hot rodding
Gasser, what you don't seem to grasp is that no one cares what you build. Hot rodding isn't either one thing or the other, it's a continuum running from the "I bolted it together with parts I found in the pasture" to "I wrote Coddington a check for $300k." You seem to have some need to justify rat rods when all most of the folks are saying is, listen up, now: "Build a rat rod if you want . . . I just don't happen to want one." If you just quit justifying your ride by knocking those who don't see it your way, your adrenalin level will drop back to normal, and you'll quit messing up level five on your game boy.
Oh . . . perhaps this is the opposite of hot rodding:

Dooooood,
Look up, because my point just sailed about 6' over your head. Trailer queens don't have to be cool to you or to me. They just have to be cool to the owner.
Ratrods don't have to be cool to Dave or me, they just have to be cool to the owner.
No rod has to be a daily driver unless the owner wants it to be.
The gameboy reference was an allegory . . . look it up.
Finally, I don't have to take your posts apart, they fall apart by themselves.
Pro . . . Yup . . .

So gasser, how many road tripping cruising miles you have on your ride??? How did ya like the big bridge down in Key West, and isn't that drive along US1 fun in Northern Cal??? I never said any of my rods were daily drivers, and would never use them as such, hard to haul lengths of steel, take motors to Keith's shop, go pick up shop supplies, pull cars to the paint shop, etc. with a hot rod. My pickup works much better for that. I use my hot rods for road trips and travelling, not for going to the store.
My point is this, other than swearing at people and calling them names, have you ever been anywhere or done anything in the world of hot rodding other than just cruise around town??? If you would just once drop the gangster know it all crap and listen you could actually learn something here. I have never seen you post anything positive in any of the threads you have participated in. As far as other geezers that know more than I do, geez I hope so. Knowing it all is a very serious impediment towards learning anything new. I've been at the old hot rod game about 40 years, and I try to learn something new everyday. Only a suggestion, but maybe you should try the same...Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Learning must be difficult for those who already know it all!!!!

Dave,
Something just came to mind. Think it applies? When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.

So whats the hype about trailer Queens my old 65 pull s the race car to shows I dont call it a trailer queen I,d get a ticket if I drove it although it would be kinda fun so long as their no left turns. Ive pulled the 65 on a trailer and I know its not a trailer queen I only know of one car out their that can be called a trailer queen but he only paid something like 3,700 for it and its valued at 1000,000,000 its a 1957 T bird the guy went to dytroit bought it straght from the factory and rolled it in a glass trailer and sealed it that where it is today it never been driven now that a trailer queen some of us that do use trailers SOMETIMES do drive themLast edited by john gemmer; 09-01-2004 at 07:51 PM.

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
