I remember being in your position and let me tell you it doesn't get any easier. I belonged to a Street Rod club at 20, was called "young pup" for almost 20 years! And you know what, I still am perceived that way by most people over the age of 55 - don't worry about it so much, I think they are all scared of us "young pups" growing up so they feel they have to try to keep us down, and they use the word respect as a whipping stick to make us feel inferior. Don't let it bother you so much cause they'll all die soon and we will be the "know-it-alls!" and then we all will have to remember how we were treated and give the young uns the respect they deserve!!!!!
I think kids are ignorant by design. If they knew ahead of time what experiences are ahead of them to get to maturity it might just scare the beegeebeez out of em'.
And contrary to what you may think, this isn't a knock against you ......... it's just life. When we were your age it was drilled into our heads to respect our elders. That's a foreign concept today. Once you learn respect you will be wise beyond your years. If you don't think that's true, you've just proven my point.
Note to self: Save this file : Young people who know it all: . Copy and paste as necessary. Aptly applies to young people universally. It's human nature at work.Last edited by pro70z28; 09-01-2004 at 07:02 AM.
"PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.
"LIVE" your life like you could die tomorrow.

Sorry for your loss of friend Mike McGee, Shine. Great trans men are few and far between, it seems. Sadly, Mike Frade was only 66 and had been talking about retirement for ten years that I know...
