    Question Dual 4's?

    Hey All.
Since I was stoned on my last post about the Fake Hilborn setup, I thought Id ask yer oppinions on dual 4's.
I believe I will 4 now be dropping a medium performance sbc in my car, but I want something different looking than the ordinary sbc look.
Any oppinions on a tunnel ram? I waz thinkin like a Weiand with 2 500 Edelbrocks. Anyone ever messed with em? Im looking at a 350 horse or so engine with a 2 speed glide, 2400-3000 stahl, 4.56 gears in a 2600lb car with me in it. Any thoughts? HG
Im not real smart, but I can lift heavy things.

If you like the look of a 2-4 tunnel ram I say go for it. If you're looking for performance i would think a well matched (To your engine) single 4 would run better. ???

first makes sure that yor fuel pump can handle the demand of filling two carbs. next if the car really hooks up you may need to change the needle and seat to high flow becuase the primarys will uncover with a lot of acceleration,
the kits for tuning the carbs are around $50.00 each (you will need two kits seeing each kit can only do one carb)
changing the metering rods and springs are easy if the vac signal is low use a lighter spring, if this does not help the idle quality (running rich) you will need to change out the metering rod and jet to lean the carbs at idle. it will take a bit of tuning but it's worth it in the long run.

I ran an early set of dual quads (WCFB's) on a sbc back in the '60's. The front one was gutted and it ran fairly well for its day. Edlebrocks (Carter Clones) are much easier to tune and adjust and you may or may not reach your HP expectations, but it sure will look cool as hell.

I wanted caddy or Hemi power, but I already had a bunch of sbc stuff and my wifes layoff forced me to go this route for now.
She said if I am patient, after she gets her rn she will buy me a crate 426 Hemi! I think I can be patient. HG
