Please help on swap meet
My neighbor used to own the Rod Shop in Grand Rapids, MI. He suffers from MS now but wants to go to a swap meet in Virginia or NC (where I am from) I told him if I could find one down there, I will drive him. (He still has his own stock car and drives it as often as he can and has alot of wonderful cars coming out of his garage) Can anyone lead me in the right direction to find where one might be down there and when? Can you tell I don't know too much of what I'm talking about? (yes I'm blonde and female!) Just want to help him do whatever he wants before they put him in a wheelchair. Looking for swap meets in those two states in Sept or Oct. Can anyone help me? Please?

Its' quite a bit off my patch... but heres a link to some shown in the southeast I found. I can't say for sure that any will have swap meets, you would have to follow the individual links for that info, but its' a place to start. Good luck

I have no idea what he "swaps" He used to build custom hot rods, but after he sold it, he just goes to these "swap meets" I see him go down hill so fast after finding out he has MS, just wanted to drive him to one down there since he wanted to go (I go down to visit family, he can't drive too much) Thank you for taking the time to answer. I really do appreciate it. Not sure really what he is wanting to go to, to be honest!

Deb,
I am not a member (yet) but I have received good information from:
rclark@virginiastreetrods.org
I am hunkered down in my garage building my car so I am not "club-active" yet, but I have friends who talk about the "Good Guys" meet in N.C. but I think that is past for this year? The next big meet that a lot of mfgrs go to is at Carlisle Pa in Oct. but I do not know the date. Also the Big AACA meet at Hershey Pa is usually the week after the Carlisle meet. I used to be more of a fan for the AAA meet in Hershey, but I recall that there is a lot of rod material for swap/sale (bring lots of money!) at the Hershey meet also. I can only give vague leads but maybe you can use the Internet for these meets and also mags like Street Rodder usually list upcoming meets each month.
