    Hot Rod Build-Off...

I saw a commercial on Descovery Channel for a show called Hot Rod Build-off... I guess it is a take-off from the Biker Build-Off shows...

Looks like the first build-off is between Jimmy Shine and Barry White... I didn't catch when it aires, but it should be a good show...

Jeez, too bad they couldn't find any REAL hot rodders!!

i hope this does as much for the hotrods as the build off does for the motorcycles .even though they used these 2 ( which shine is a rat rodder ( the good kind ) )and barry white is a high dollar builder )
like yaffe the high dollar guy vs the low tech billy lane !
i like these shows which use different guys to highlite , i am tired of seeing boyd cotterpin . and his group of dips**ts.( except charlie and roy ) if everyone know how much of a crook boyd is they will stop using his stuff !
this is the way i see it , not wanting to start this rat rod crap again !!!so dont post about rat rods unless it has something to do with this show !
yes i drove ,the trailer didnot drive it's self

    Hummm...

I thought it was interesting that they picked such a contrast in builders... Although the intersting thing was that from the previews it looked like Jimmy was building a "plastic" gasp 32 Roadster... I might be wrong, but would'nt it be ironic if the King of the "Rat Rod" guys was building a "kit car"...

Personally I think Jimmy's truck is one of the coolest rides out there, but I don't think there is anything low$ about it!!!

look at the parts , he has scavaged alot of them from a aircraft wrecking yard , and fabed the rest . example fuel tank , seats , radi over flow , i dont think a part on this truck is store bought .

Should be a good show, I think Kenny should take on the winner!!!!

It should be an interesting show. I think Jimmy would be at a disadvantage. He has to go out and scrounge for parts to build it his way. Barry can make a phone call and have new parts delivered to his shop.

It's in two parts Sunday 22nd at 9 pm and 10 pm, then again Monday Morning 23rd at 12 am and 1 am. I am guessing those are Eastern Time. It's on Discovery Channel, check your listing to be sure.

I will program the recorder tonight!

Just did some reading on the Shine car that will be featured on the Discovery Channel show on Sunday... No chance of seeing a Rat Rod here guys, it is the "Shine" Supercharged Adurn Rodster that just reciently sold for around 300K...

I think that we should take up a show and have guys on here with different building styles go on the show! Like Streets and Matt, pro70 and treekiller, Bob and Myself. Wouldnt that be an interesting show??
