May get leather seats from brand new buick 10 miles wrecked.......
As you may or may not know, I'm a Paramedic. (Depends if you looked at my picture in the "post a picture of yourself thread"...lol!) Anyways I responded to an accident today that involved a brand new just driven off the lot with 10 miles on the odo Buick Lesabre that had struck a very large truck with the entire front end of the car sitting underneath the large truck. The driver was entrapped and I used the jaws of life to remove the roof to gain access to the driver and to remove him safely.
After the driver had been removed I was looking at the car and suddenly noticed those sparkling brand new electric leather seats in the car. The car had been actually traded to another dealer in NC because someone there wanted the car in the color scheme and extras etc. and the driver was transporting it back to NC. I contacted the dealership later today and asked about the possibility of getting the seats since the car was a total loss. they said that it may be a possibility and are putting me in contact with the person that can make the decision. So right now I have my fingers crossed, so time will tell.
The car still had the sticker in the window.......$35,500 down the drain in the snap of a finger.Go Hokies!!!!!! ACC CHAMPS '04,'07,'08

Ooooo.....Cushy New Leather Seats...Keep your fingers crossed, hopefully they'll find a new home in your rod!
I couldn't help but laugh when you said that your just happened to notice the seats in this car....I was visualizing you helpin' the guy out of the car, and sayin' "Excuse me, but would you mind if I took a closer look at those seats???"
Sorry, it just struck me funny....

I have worked several wrecks but the only time I remember noticing the seats was one time I crawled into a car to stabilize a person’s neck so we could take him out through the back. The seat that I had to crawl over was covered with the remains of a pizza he had just bought. You know though, I don’t remember ever asking if I could have some of the pizza after it was over with.
One time a drunken teenage boy came into the department following wrecking his mom’s MGB. The boy did fine. After it was over, I very carefully asked the mother if I could buy the windshield wiper and heater assemblies. She was glad to sell them. The MGB wiper system is a cable unit that can be adapted to a lot of different street rod applications.
Another time there was an old beat up Mercury Cougar MX sitting in the back or a used car lot. It had a Cleveland engine and a nine inch rear end in it with less than 60k miles. I went in and asked the manager if I could buy the car. He told me he would have to get back with me. He did not. A few months later his wife brought his son in with a broken ankle. They did not have medical insurance. I offered to cast the foot and pay them a little boot (no pun intended) for they car. They agreed.
In both instances it worked out well for every one.

The dealership contacted me today and advised me that I now needed to get in contact with the truck drivers insurance co., since they were now the proud owners of the totaled car....lol.Go Hokies!!!!!! ACC CHAMPS '04,'07,'08

Youther go for it, my buddy has totaled out 3 cars or at least his insurance company did, said it would cost too much to fix them. Well he bought them back from the insurance company for as little as $250 for one and the most expensive was $1500. Well he got around 20k for each car and only took us about 12k to fix them back up again, So who knows you may get the whole car for cheap and can sell the good parts for what you paid and still come out with the seats for free.1949 Plymouth Club Coupe Still in pieces.

Yeah joker I had thought about that also. I would be interested in buying the whole car cause I could sell the rest of the car for parts.Go Hokies!!!!!! ACC CHAMPS '04,'07,'08
