If you can't find the Explorer to canibalize, Ford Racing makes a complete kit with pan, and pickup to convert to rear sump. Since you didn't say why you think it's a bad idea we're left to guess, but nearly everyone who does a SBF in these Ford chassis uses the rear sump rather than the more complex, and expensive, dry sump.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
