Bought my girlfriend (wife now) a dollar car ('64 Rambler American for $1) when we were in high school.
It has a household metal light switch box screwed to the dash with two light switches.
First switch turned on the ignition.
Second switch was the starter...just turn it on until it fired and then turn it off.
(Had a Bic pen controlled vacuum wiper too)

Bought a 75 Grand Prix one time for the engine and trans.. The entire underside of the dash and back to the taillights was wired in sheathed Romex 14ga. house wire. Looked like a giant white hairball under the dash..http://community.webshots.com/user/deepnhock
The first model car I built was a 32 Ford roadster by Revell in the mid 50's.
How did you get hooked on cars?
