For the motor in in, 13K is way to much. My advice is to actually look into e-bay. Theres a few AMX and javilins up for bids, and i think a few have 401/390s. However-Almost a Musclecar? Comeon man.Right engine, Wrong Wheels

Studebakers are generally undervalued and part of the reason is Studebaker Nuts are notorious cheapskates! They don't like to part with a dollar if they can avoid it. (no offense meant here! I are one of them.) One of the great things about the Studebaker Coupes and Hawks is many of the pieces interchange from 1953 to 1962. A 1953 body will bolt right on to a '62 frame. They are also pretty light, so a little power goes a long ways. You definitely don't see a lot of them at the local show and shine either. Suprisingly there are a lot of parts still available and they are great platforms to adapt modern components to. I have a 1953 Coupe and people just won't believe it is over 50 years old. Too low and sleek! Not a shoe box like others from that era.
As for the size of the Grand Prix, it is similar to the Monte Carlo and Buick Riviera. They have a looong hood but the rest of the car is comparable to a Chevelle.
Happy Hunting!

Try the local auctions, sometimes lucky, e-bay seems to be overpriced for buying something blindly, there also seems to be alot of "fake" auctions going there. Good Luck!

Good way of putting it Stu. However, I also have to say that AMC People who dont drive an AMX or something like it are also cheapskates. After all, my Eagle only cost 250$ and it drove home. My Fathers AMCs(4 Eagles, 1 Spirit, 1 Concord, 1 Hornet) were all very cheap. Other than the first Eagle @ 3K from the Dealer, all the others were 500$ or less. And yes, they drove home too. So, i have to Say, YAAAY AMCs and All Underappreciated Cars!Right engine, Wrong Wheels
Thank you Roger. .
