    Cool Pic of MY Roadster

Since I could not figure out how to add a picture to the post in the edit mode, I thought I would post a pic of my Roadster in a new post. Here it is in a mock up. It is the first time it had a grille, windshield and dash rail on. Hopefully I will get it drivable in the next year or so. I still have wiring, gauges, steering, suspension alignment, brakes, gas lines, etc. to do. Wow I still have a lot of work ahead of me. By the way that is my Dad in the background.

Nice car! Looks like real steel with the original gas tank cap. Just wondering if you are going to be able to use the original tank and if not where will you put the tank on a PU? I am working on a '29 roadster frame but I do not have the body yet. I have toyed with the idea of putting a fake gas tank cap on the cowl of a 'glass body so it won't look so obviously fiberglass. Maybe yours is real steel but also a non-functional gas cap?

Thanks for the compliments. They mean a lot as this is my first ground up build of anything, especially a hot rod.

Yes, it is a real steel car with an orignal tank. The tank has been cut out for room under the dash. The tank is going to be in the bed just behind the headboard. I will probably use an RCI or Jaz fuel cell. Which ever one fits. I plan on putting the battery and the fuse panel next to the tank on the passenger side. I want to build a removable metal cover to go over it all and hide it. Maybe put it on a piano hinge of some sort to allow easy access to the tank.

Very nice! Looks like a fun project. If this is your first "ground up build of anything" then let me give you some advise that I wish others gave me. Stay focused! You'll be hooked soon so don't start more than 10 ground-up builds of things at the same time otherwise none of them get finished I've got an unfinished ground-up kitchen floor project, an unfinished roof repair, an unfinished basement, an unfinished custom embedded operating system, an unfinished ASIC design, tons of unfinished software, an unfinished deck project, an unfinished sailboat , an unfinished PsychoKart, etc. etc.
