Fat Man Fabrications - quality?
Someone here who have knowledge about Fatman Fabrications?
How's their suspension setups compared to others?
Their homepage looks pretty, the prices looks low and they offer a Mustang II setup with nice shock towers like's on the "real" IFS systems.
Are they as good as all this looks?

Re: Fat Man Fabrications - quality?
I am currently running a set of their narrowed GM a-arms and had absolutely no porblem installing them, aligning them, and driving the crap out of them.
For some ugly before and after pic's, go to:

I also know of several M2 front clip installations that went well.
They build good stuff.

I used a Fatman's front clip MII on my 53 Studebaker project. They may not be the prettiest MII setup out there, but the price is reasonable, and it is well constructed. The crossmember is made of 3/8" stock, I was glad to see. I had to notch out 1 1/2" of it in the center to get my engine down deeper into the chassis, and clear the setback I also had on it. Maybe you can see what I did in this pick.

Thanks for the info!
This seems nice.
However, do you consider the Fatman kits with the modified shock towers nice enough to stay on a highboy?
I know I know, it's my car, it's up to me, do what you like, and so on.
But since I consider myself as a newbee on hot rod chassis, I ask this question anyway.
It's not worth it to save 3-500$ compared to the price on a basic Heidt kit if the Fatman kit is much uglier. But on the other hand, if it's not, then 3-500$ extra is nice to put somewere else.

I have never seen a Fatman's IFS for a 32. But I have seen a number of their other crossmembers and front clips. I would describe them as utilitarian. If I was building a 40 Ford drive Fatman's would be fine. But if I was building a 32 I would be inclined to go with Heits or Kugle. An Old California Rodder
