1967 Plymouth Belvedere
I've had this car for about four years, and now I have other home and car projects that need to be addressed.
It's was origianlly a 2-barrel 318, automatic car, it's still a small block car, but I've changed just about everything.
I pulled an HP 318 out of an ex-police fury with 65,000 miles, it's a forged crank engnie with a windage tray.
(I still have the original 318)
New parts,
- 360 J Heads, completely re-bulit by Johnson's Machine in Norfolk, VA.
(new stems, seals, springs, and three angle valve job)
- Mopar black wrinkle valve covers
- Comp Cams 262H cam, with new lifters and new cam bearings
- Summit double roller timing chain
- Mopar hardened oil pump shaft
- Mopar high volume oil pump and pick up tube
- Mopar (stock) oil pan
- Water pump (stock)
- Edlebrock RPM Air Gap intake
- Edlebrock 650 cfm elc. choke
- Hooker long tube headers
- Gas tank (two years ago)
- Mopar electronic distributor and box
- Accel Blaster coil
- Accel Plugs and Plug wires
- Original 2 core radiator re-cored to a 3 core by Allsbrook's in Norfolk, VA
- Original (small 727) transmission re-bulit, with Mopar 2500 stall converter and mild shift kit
- Transmission cooler
- Stock fuel pump
- All belts and hoses
- Front brake drums, shoes, hardware, and wheel bearings
- American Racing Torque Thrust D's
- BF Goodrich white letter radial T/A's
- Legendary interiors seat covers and floor carpet
- Package shelf
- Gas and brake pedal pads, with chrome bezels
- 63/64 fiberglass Max wedge hood scoop
The car has, in addition to the above, (but not new)
- 8.75 Suregrip with a 3:23
- power steering
- power brakes
- Three year old 2003 Chrysler Platinum metallic paint on the lower body
- Two year old Gloss Black painted top (was a soft top)
The car needs,
- Small amounts of body work, little bits of rust around fender wells.
- Very small amount of rust in trunk, not even close to being through.
- Hole in floor that has been patched, but needs to be done properly down the road.
- Some front end steering work, it's only making noise now, still steers great.
- Headliner needs to be replaced.
- The door panels are original and in good shape except for one in the rear seat area
- Fuel sending unit (gas gadge doesn't work as of six months ago, it's not the gadge)
The car doesn't need much to be perfect, or you could re-place the small block with a big block
and make it into a GTX clone without the guilt of driving a real one (or the price) !
The car is very fun to drive, turns heads, an gets thumbs up where ever it goes. Drive it anywhere !
If you've never owned a Mopar or you're looking for another one for your collection
this car would make a great one for you !
