This one's not for everybody .....
You couldn't say that this is exactly a hot rod, but here's the deal:
-1984 Plymouth Gran Fury "Police Special".
-Ordered by an individual (never a police car), "build sheet" available.
-Ordered with a standard (2-barrel) 318 but has all the other police
package stuff (suspension, cooling system, etc.).
The body is very good with only a couple of minor door dings. The paint is early eighties crappy but the interior, which is super-tough cop-car vinyl, is excellent (see the attached pictures). The car has obviously been sitting for a long time and will need an engine rebuild. The owner (an independent garage operator) was in the process of changing the water pump when his health went sour, and the car is sitting just as he left it at that time.
If somebody is in the market for tough-but-comfortable , safe, "kid proof" set of wheels for family use, this might be the way to go.
If this grabs you, send me a PM and I'll get you whatever other information you need. The car is in the Dallas/Fort Worth Texas area.

Five hundred would probably make him happy, and three fifty might, can't say. I think it would make a great (if not prestigious) ride for the right person. If you like I'll put you in touch with him. Send me a PM and, if he doesn't object, I'll give you his phone number. He's in Southlake so it won't be a long distance call for you.
Or, heck, I'll meet you someplace and lead you to his place because it's not that easy to find.

I was just curious. I doubt my parents would let me get another car right now anyway. I already have the 48 and an 85 Vette.

Maybe the duck is a negotiating point! (Actually, the duck is the handle on one of those fold-up umbrella things, and he might be persuaded to part with it).
The car in not driveable. As I said, the man was changing the water pump when he got where he couldn't finish the job for health reasons, so I'm sure there's no pump on it. That was probably three years ago (maybe longer). He did tell me it needed an engine rebuild.
As for what it would take to buy it, when I told that guy that $500 would probably make the owner happy, and $350 might, that was pure speculation on my part and I probably shouldn't have said it. I'll try to talk to him tomorrow to see if there's anything else you should know, and send you a PM with whatever I find out, if that's okay.
