49 Ford 2dr.
My friend Steve has a 49 Ford 2dr sedan, body work is done, it's painted black and has the original flathead with 3spd column shift. It's in very good shape. He has no seats for it. Asking 2500.00 you can contact me at
niteowl1944@yahoo.com or call Steve at 816 204 1612 The car will be at the Shriner's Swap Meet at the Woodland's in K C Kan. on April 4-5-6th in the car coral.
thanks, Al

what is the difference between the 2 door sedan and the coupe? I don't suppose your friend would be interested in a trade/partial trade involving a 91 ford explorer XLT with low miles on rebuilt engine and trans? (I can give more details if interested, needs a few things but is a strong runner).
do you think with a seat the Ford would make the trip to California on its own? Thanks!

I'm thinking hard about this one. My 1st and 2nd cars were 49 Club Coupes.
If you can get pictures that would be great.

I am very interested as well, does anybody know what the transport cost would be from Missouri (that's what MO is right?) to Fresno, CA? I talked to my uncle on the phone in the Philippines last night and he said to check into it but didn't think it could be more than about 400-500 bucks.

I shipped a 55 Chevy from North Central, Indiana to Dixon, Ca. enclosed van it was just under $2,000 you can do a search on transporting and you can get quotes on line as long as you have the zip codes. I would say without even seeing the car that it would be worth $2500 but then If you have to go another $2,000 for shipping then it would take a lot of pictures of the car to make sure of what you are getting. I gave the guy lots of pictures of the 55 Chevy from just about every angle plus underneath. You may have better luck in Ca. finding a good one unless you feel this would be between $4 and $5,000 hope this helps you.

we have shipped a few, they ran from about $500.00 to $700.00. That was from Fl to Mn & Mn to Ca.

i have found some out here, it must be a 2 door and must be 49-51 otherwise i don't look. (some nice 4 doors have been around, but doesn't give me the nastalgic feeling reminding me of my dads). price is usually around 4k for ones that are missing interior and other stuff. the body is most important to me as I am not a body guy (there'll be posts later today proving that).
Pat, what company did you use? Thanks a lot.

Pat, that is really cheap, 1999 we shipped a car open transporter from In. to Texas and it was $750, Diesel fuel has gone up lately also. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think you will get it shipped anywhere close to $500 or $700.

I checked enclosed transport a couple months ago. It was $1 a mile. Diesel has gone up considerably since then so I'm sure it's more now.
Thank you Roger. .
