1968 Galaxie Fastback Coupe for Sale Agian
Well the car is back for sale. I was sent out of state on a business trip and was un able to post the pictures or to answer any questions. Currently the car is pretty good shape, only rust on the car is on the rear quarter panels right behind the back tire. It's about 5in long and 2 1/2 - 3 high on both sides. No dents on the car, a small in-dentation on the driver side fender, right on the corner. So, hehe maybe one dent counting that =) Anyway the chrome is all there, except for the Passenger side rocker panel chrome. and the rear wheel trim. The car is all intact and has had no body damage. Grill is in great shape, all Windows are in great condition, no cracks or breaks. The Windshield has 2 small scratch/rippel where the wipers move across. I talked to a local glass repair company and they said that it would be easy to remove. The interior is pretty damn nice for being how old it is. The inside is Maroon/Red and the only rips in the interior are on the front seat on both passenger and driver side. I talked to a local company said they could re-vinyl it for 300$. The carpet is orig. and in good shape, driver side has some wear and a few rips but the Mat covers them. The Console is in great shape and dash has sun wear and cracks. It needs to be replaced but how many dashs can you find in good condition to use? So a dash cover is just as good =) The engine needed work so I re-built the top half, replaced the heads with another set pre-machined. Not sure of the machining specs Pulled them off another engine i picked up from a machine shop. Replaced all the seals, naturally. I made a good set of Push rods from 2 sets I had, and I replaced the lifters with a new set. The Valley pan is a used pan, but in great condition. The rocker arms are just a pair of good stock set. I painted everything from the block up since they were off, and I used the stock 2bbl intake and bought a new autolite 2bbl carb. Has all the orig parts, and the breather is in great shape. The car came with a AC and all the lines, hook ups and id tags. I pulled it off for now, I really didn't think I needed it on there. Needs to be re-charged and it would take 60 bucks to get the conversion kit. I had to replace the entire brake system, all except for the lines, that would be a bit more expensive. I replaced the master cylinder, the rear Drums, Brakes and I'm currently in the process of replacing the front drums and brakes. Also I'm replacing the studs for the lugs to screw on, three of them broke off, engine has a but more power now =) The tires need to be replaced, they are weatherd and cracked. The mags are a set of old school Torq thrust. I'm looking for the wheel caps, they are missing. Back to the interior the back seats and head liner are in beautiful shape, not a rip in either. The car has alot of potential and is a rare find. I have yet to find any or see any in Colorado. The car still turns heads and grabs compliments even in it's current condition. You can get some flanges welded in for 150-300 and then depending on the paint and where you get it done, it could be something you want for about 1200 bucks more into it. If I can't sell it I'll just keep working on it. I'm asking 3200 right now, I have many parts that would go with the car including a good 390 that could be re-built. I am willing to take trades I'm looking for a 1959 Galaxie 500, I'd love to get a sunliner but it really doesn't matter as long as it's a 1959 Galaxie. I'll take offers for cash or trades. I'll try to up=load some pictures, hopefully everything will go smother this time round. If you have any questions feel free to ask me, my e-mail is Truman68@hotmail.comFORD = First on Race Day
