1931 Chevy High Boy Five window Coupe
This all Steel Rare 31 Chevy has had all the wood replaced with steel tube, and way over 2000+ Hrs in the build. New 350 engine, 700R4 Trans Lokar shifter, 9” Posie rear end with Dutchman axles, Coil track bar NASCAR style rear suspension. Boxed and reinforced factory frame with Chrome independent Tubular upper and lower control arms with a close ratio rack. Rare one off hidden torsion bar suspension that has superior handling and ride and looks and is fully adjustable with two bolts. The body has a 3 ½ Chop, Hidden hinges, Bare claw latches, Keyless entry, Power windows and Trunk. Vintage air and heat with electric servo controls, VDO gages Electronic Speedo, Highway 15 wiring harness, Sony CD with Blue Tooth. Leatherette Custom Interior with triple insulation and sculptured flames. All Glass was bonded in from the inside and original inner window moldings were used. Ididit steering Column and Chrome Billet Banjo wheel, Flaming River Steering Joints /Shafts, WeldWood disk brakes, Lokar emergency brake. This Rod was built with all new high quality components as the pictures show from the Custom Walker radiator with built in condenser to the March power coated Serpentine belt system, Sanderson Jaysters coated Headers and custom exhaust. Edelbrock Air Gap, Holley Street Avenger, MSD HEI Distributor, Tanks Stainless fuel cell. Good Year tires and American Torque Thrust wheels. This rod has received the NSRA Safety 23 Certificate and runs and drives Great.
This rod has 1500 miles on it and was complete in Aug of 2008 and has one trip to California on it and got 22MPG, Not Bad.
This car has been to several shows and received top awards and attracts an unbelievable amount of attention.
The car is located in Phoenix Or. And is an original titled 31 Chevy coupe and is registered in Oregon.
The car was built with the 32 from American Graffiti in mind. The use of a very nice 31 Chevy to start with and the 2000+ hours of work pushed it over the edge, with the look I was after. The 31 being a flush door body Chevy Coupe and the front suspension made it a Very Cool Ride.
