txpappy,
That's a lot better than a basket case.
A basket case is supposed to be disassembled with most of the parts in boxes and baskets. There's usually one or two boxes missing. You have a lot of work to do to make that 57 fit the description." Im gone'

57-150
Well, I am a pesimist I guess. Maybe it is me that is the basket case. What I meant was that it basically needs everything...eng, trans, floor in the trunk, brakes, suspension, body, interior...other than that it is OK.

The 55 ad says "No known rust".....................Look at the underside pictures, I can see a number of bad spots. For 27 grand, I would expect not to see any.
What's that, just above the frame?

I thought that was a picture of the underside of txpappy's 57 not a $27,000 "finished" car." Im gone'

rust
Rust and rust through are distant cousins, but if my 55 was that good I wouldn't have it posted. I shouldn't admit it, but the poor guy that I got it from had patched the trunk floor where the shocks mount with cabinet hinges...yes with 3/16" metal screws. I ought to take pics of the underside for laughs.

Guys, sorry I hadn't been watching the thread. I'm 95% sure that he has sold the car, but if anyone has anymore interest you can always give him a call at the number on the web site.
I was under that car taking the pictures and I never saw any obvious rust. That rough stuff you see underneath is undercoating - same stuff you see on the bottom of the gas tank in that last pic. There may have been a spot of surface rust here and there, like on that weld where the rear crossmember meets the frame in that first pic, but the spots were few and far between. It's a four/five year old resto that has been driven a fair amount since he's owned it, so you'd expect to see some imperfections. I know the price is high but he's had a lot of interest, and like I said I'm pretty sure he sold it.Too many Mustangs
