    440 vacuum advance

I have a 440 Magnum converted over to electric ignition and a 750 cfm Edelbrock carb. My question is: do I hook up the vacuum advance to the distributor or should I cap it off? And if so, is it best to run the line to the left (if looking at it from the front) upper vacuum nipple or the right lower nipple on the carb? People have mentioned that it should be conected to the upper, I have seen some on the other.

This has confused me for a long time.

I also forgot to ask this: If connecting to the vacuum advance, is it likely that my rpm's will run high?

Rpms shouldnt run any higher due to vacuum advance. Thats mostly for idle/clean emissions. However, you should probably hook it up. Check any book and it should tell you which nipple. or just try one, hit the gun and try the other.

This may sound dumb, but what should I be listening of looking for when I do hook it up and gun it?

Put centrifical weights in the distributor, works better then the vacume advance, especially in them old dodges. They sell the kits at the speed shops to do it.

You want to hook it up to the ported vacuum. If the tube is sucking at idle, it's the manifold vacuum. It shouldn't start pulling vacuum until part-throttle.

It's the upper left one. Vacuum advance helps gas mileage.
