Hello from Minnesota
Hello, everyone. I found my way here from the search term "rat rod". Since I was 8 years old and saw a 55 chev smoke the tires from a stoplight I knew I wanted a street rod. 42 years, marriage, 2 kids later my dream finally came true. Along the way I watched as the sport grew and changed. My hopes sank as I watched the high buck cars take over the sport. Then last year while browsing e-bay, lo and behold I found the term rat rod attacked to my dream car. He's a 51 Pontiac Cheiftan, nova sub, SB chevy, no interior, body by bondo, and paint by spray can, I paid a measly $3500 for him and put 2500 miles on him in 4 months. THIS is my idea of rodding, a car not built by pros and parked wherever you want. (no wax required!) I look forward to conversation while waiting for spring!

Goldenrog- I like it! I would say, "Welcome to the forum!" but I just got here myself!More projects than money. All it takes to get something done is time, money, and ambition, all together at once.

Hey Rog, welcome to the forum. Great looking poncho ya got there. I am down the road and across the line a couple hundred miles in South Dakota. I still have a vent window from my '55 Ford with a "North Star Dragway" decal on it!!! Are you gonna have the car at back to the 50's this year?? Let me know, I'll be sure to look you up..Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Welcome to the Club Jim. Hey, glad ya found that dream car of yours, its a real nice lookin' ride!!
I was in your area a couple of years ago with my dad visiting the relatives in Minneapolis and Silver Bay. My dads family is scattered all over the place there, mostly under ground now but some still kickin' :-) We'll be heading back sometime this year again for another visit when it warms up a tad, my dad doesn't do cold weather anymore.:-)
