    the next generation here

hey guys, glad to be aboard. I get so much inspiration and idears from hotrods, but mostly geared to rat rods.. dirty, fast as hell and fun to drive.

Well i couldn't figure what car to start with, i'm 24.. and wanted to break new ground. Everyone and there mom has done a rod, and its great as a life long passion. I went with a 1999 honda civic, a classic.. by no means, anything specail, nope. Well so far its been stripped to chassis, seam welded, 6 pont dom cage, 12k/8k nitrogen filled/pillowball mounts, disc brakes all around, 40/40 prop, and custom brake lines.

I should get my seats today, and run a 4 point harness, safc computer for the fuel/ignition with "uberdata" to piggy back of that when done. The engine block is acrua's ls and a b16 dohc head. I have stock camshafts, with a massive port job and matching with the intake manifold i fabbed out of sheet metal and a cnc'ed flange. I run 4 primary injectors at 750cc, and 4 secondary injectors also at 750cc. 70mm tb from a mustang, and 3" charge pipes all around. The intercooler is a tube/fin core with custom fabbed endlinks, at 30x8x2, looks to be about .2 psi lost which isn't that bad at 18psi.

The turbo is the all might garret gt35r, spools quick, and provides me with 640whp and a high 10 second qtr mile.

currently im chopping out the radiator support and putting some cross members in its place.

future goals for the car is swapping out the acrua/honda combo and going with honda's new k24 powerplant and pushing it up to 900/1000hp range.

the car is still street legal, kinda... well we know how that goes. I still run glass except for the rear windows.

Still building away, i'm also starting a shifter cart except turbo'd.. think it would be run to run a 10 second qtr mile .5" off the ground.. heheh

Well first I want to say hi. We don't have a lot of members from New England. I'm from Salem but moved here to avoid the traffic and weird neighbors. The neighbors up here are weirder than the ones I left behind but they do their thing and don't complain when I do mine.

My mom never built a hot rod and my dad liked classic Packards and LaSalles. I've seen a lot of kids trying to hot rod Honda civics so it's a tough niche to break new ground. Most of them are just "Fast and Furious" wannabes. But it sounds like your's is gonna be built right.

Are you putting us on with the 12K/8K nitrogen filled/pillowball mounts? Most of us just use Johnson rods for that. Custom brake lines are more familiar.

There's not much help available here for specific Honda questions. I hope your love of hot rods will eventually get you to break new ground with a more traditional car that we can relate to. Maybe when you pull the Acura/Honda combo you can find a T bucket to put it in. I don't think that's been done yet.
    " Im gone'
