    'nuther new guy

    Hi all,

Just found this site yesterday. Guess I've been living under a rock or something.

I'm a frustrated rodder in my 40s living in east central Illinois (go Illini!). My project car is becoming more long term than I had hoped. But that's life. It's been a long cold winter, but spring will be here soon. Time to get back out in the shop.

I've owned four Camaros and a Mustang LX 5.0 that was a blast. Really wanted something traditional this time. So now I'm working on a 29 Ford Tudor sedan. I picked the car up for a whopping $800. It's got a 3" chop (so far) and a very solid body. The original chassis and drive train are in tact. I already have a buyer for that stuff. The body's going on a Deuce frame that I've had since 1999. It's going to be set up high boy style. No fenders, steel wheels, bias ply tires and lakes style headers. I'm using the parts that I've had for years. So the drive train will be pretty uninspired, a small block Chevy and Muncie M-21. They're left-overs from the last Camaro. It will spend some of it's life flat black. But ultimately, I'd like to go with a Pagan Gold, early 60's theme. Radir's and cheater slicks are on the wish list too.

My nine year old son and I are doing all the work together. It's going to take a while and it won't be perfect. But it's more about the journey, not the destination, right? Anyway, I'll try to get some more current pics up here if anyone's interested.
