I don't mind helping this guy out. He is more than willing to pay for anything and absolutely refuses to let me pay for any meals when we go out. I feel really guilty sometimes, but I have mucho, mucho hours in his car and he knows it. He has even went so far as to buy parts for mine when I couldn't afford it.
I recently went on disability from two heart attacks and two open heart surgeries. I love these old cars and talked him into it. He loves it to
He told me the other day that he alwys thought he had plenty of tools until he met me. After I got through laughing and rolling on the floor, we went and bought more. He is pretty well set now. I am going to teach him to weld after we get through the critical parts of welding on his car. I have already had too many re-do,s.
I had another situation like you were talking about. The guy had his truck in my garage for 9 months and wouldn't come by to work on it. I got it running and took it to his garage and he is now mad at me and won't speak. I am more than willing to help him work on it. He just wanted to leave it in my garage.
By the way, my wifes's name is Sharon also.Ed in Jeffersonville, IN

That is a fine looking Buick Ed, 4 doors and all! The nice thing about those years (late 20's thru early 30's) the way the door are set they look very respectable and they are for sure an advantage getting in and out of the car! My '37 Special has a back seat but I don't think I can get my fat butt behind the bucket seats!
Hey, being in Indiana... how far are you from Louisville, KY? My wife and I are going back there for the NSRA Nationals in August (4th-7th) and we'll be hang'n with our other Buick buddies from the BSRA. If you get an opportunity come and find us under the BSRA Buick Boulevard banner!
Again, welcome to Club Hot Rod!!!

When the bill arrived, he took out his pen and divided the total by two, informing me of the amount Sharon and I were to pay. I don't know if there has ever been a time in my life that I've been any madder. If there has been, I don't remember it.Jack

Hello Greg,
I only live about 20 Minutes from the NSRA Nats. No danger in my car making it to the NATS this year. It is undergoing a MAJOR redo.
Where are you staying at? Do you go tho the NATS every year?
I would like to meet up with you guys. Could be we could have a cookout? I have been so busy on my neighbors Cadillac that I haven't had time to work on mine (nor the money).

Hi Ed,
We are staying at the Marriott Residence Inn (East Louisville). All the hotels closer to the Fairgrounds have been booked solid for a long time. This was a change of plans as my wife and I were going to make a vacation out of it and take our motorhome with the Buick on a trailer. We had reservations at the local KOA which would have been fun, especially to have the car there. We are unable to take that uch time away now so we're just flying in. Check this out... I preregistered the Buick way back last September and even then I was entrant # 1,920!!! This is our first trip to the "Big Event" but hopefully it won't be the last! From what I understand, the Buick Boulevard will be set up in Lot #P so that's where we'll be hanging out at as far as base camp goes.
Hey, it would be great to meet up with you and any other CHR members that may be going to the NATS!!!
C YA there...

Greg,
You are not bringing your car?? Bummer! I was looking forward to seeing it. Got any pics of it with you and your wife? I will know what to look for that way. I really wish that I could have mine running by then but there is no way. PM me some contact information. My email is <hurst01@insightbb.com>
The NATS last for 4 days, I hope we can get together during that time.

Ed,
I'll email you some pictures and a couple of cell phone numbers in the next few days. I am going to be away from the computer for a few as my wife is having surgery and I'll be staying in the motorhome (I'm not yet wireless at the hospital until Thursday.
