    Hello everyone

Hello! I just thought I would tell you all a little bit about me and my car. I just purchased a 63' Mercury Comet Custom 2 dr hardtop. It has a 260 V-8 2 speed automatic. It is in pretty good shape and has all of the original parts except for the breather and a custom emblem for the front right fender.(which im looking for if anyone knows where either of these are) The body looks to be in pretty good shape but i havent sanded it down yet. I stripped the interior this past weekend and to my dismay i found that the drivers side floor pans need to be replaced and both toe boards have rusted all of the way through.
I took interest in the classic cars when my husband bought a 65' biscayne. Now he has all of his car done minus the paint job. I sat around watching him work on his car and realized there was only two things stopping me from doing the same. One I didn't have the car and two I needed to realize I could do anything I wanted as long as I wanted to do it no matter what anybody said about a woman working on a car. Well we came across my car sitting in a yard for sale and I knew then I wanted it. It was $1500 but it was worth every penny. Did i mention that it still runs. So there you have it. I plan on working on this car as much as I can by myself. I know there will be some things I won't be able to do until I learn to do it. But hopefully by this time next year I will be out and about showing it off.
Tell me what you think about keeping it original or not!!!
    Thanks
    Alishia

    Welcome Alishia

I had to refresh my memory.
    That's a nice looking car!
    Is yours the fastback?

    1963 Comet Fastback

    This would work!

    Comet Custom

I'm not sure about the 260s potential?

    Hot Rod it!

Welcome to CHR Alishia!!! Isn't this something... a car that you don't hear a lot about ('63 Comet) and just in a couple days we get two new members with '63 Comets!!! Check out the pic's of "TEZZ" '63 Comet Ragtop Alishia. His new member entry is just a couple below this one!

Glad to see you here, Alishia. As for the Comet, I'm with the other guys. ROD IT!!! How about a 5.0 and tranny from a late 80's/early 90's Mustang? That light Comet should fly with even a stock 5.0 set up. JMO.

First time around, keep it original. Do it right. Save it for the kids. They will love it when they get to drive it to school. I'm partial to black, but that's just my $.02.
If it aint broke, work on it some more.
