    Hello!

I've been posting for a while and forgot to introduce myself!!
As you can see in my info I live in Ushuaia, so is pretty safe to say I'm probably the forum's most southermost member
My car is a '66 Chevy II SS 4-speed hardtop that I got for free from a family friend about 4 years ago, it was in really bad shape (it had been sitting out in his property for at least 15 years without engine, all glass beaten by kids, no interior, and was originally used for racing).
It took me a while to save the money and gather the parts since almost everything had to be ordered from the states (still have pieces to come, mainly for the engine), and the money exchange rate here now is almost 3:1..
I completely disassembled the body and cut off the entire floor since it was rusted beyond repair (even had plants growing inside!) and made a complete flat floor, new driveshaft tunnel, spring perches, and welded the subframes toghether for greater strenght. Also installed a complete Heidt's front clip, installed full floating rear axles (those are used here for circuit racing) along with a new posi unit, and adapted rear discs, everything in my home garage.
I set aside the original 283 for a '76 454 that I found on a trip to Buenos Aires, and I'll be punching it to 468 with a set of aluminum heads and other goodies, so I hope to get into the 460hp zone to really fly by almost everything on the street! I have never driven (or rode for that matter) on a big block car before, since musclecars or hot rods are a rare sight (big blocks especially), so I'm really looking forward to finishing it, my car is probably 1 of 3 or 4 in the entire country, so that makes it really special! (and hard to rebuild).
I hope to get it finished by the end of the year and post some pics for everyone to see!
    Martín

Ushuaia , the southernmost city of the world, is the capital of the province of Tierra del Fuego, Antártida and South Atlantic Islands.
Situated on the border of the Beagle Canal and surrounded by the Mounts Martial, this city offers a unique landscape in Argentina made up of mountains, sea, glaciers and woods.
Its capricious topography has generated an extremely picturesque city that combines colours and unevenness with the silhouette of the Andes Mountain Range as background. it is important to note the building contrast between the modern constructions and the wooden houses with gabled sheet metals that give it a particular characteristic.
Its climate, in spite of its geographical situation, is not as severe as it seems, since both the mountains and the sea soften it. In winter, the snowy landscape changes its physiognomy. There are several winter centres for the practice of cross-country skiing; and in the central part of Mount Castor, Alpine skiing can be practised.
The summer season is ideal for the adventure tourism activities such as trekking, horseback riding, mountain byke, sporting fishing and the most astounding tours along the Beagle Canal, Cape Horn and even the Argentine Antártida. During this season, several cruises reach the port of Ushuaia bringing numberless groups of tourists willing to meet all these attractions.
The city comprises a very good lodging and gastronomic infrastructure, where you can try the traditional fueguina spider crab surrounded by the frame of a prodigious nature.

    now you know

Hey, if it means I get a vacation, I don't care if I'm packin' around an oxygen bottle, or your luggage, or whatever...

However....if I'm going to be pullin' the bottle, perhaps I should break out my nurse outfit instead...that would be more appropriate, don't ya think?
