    Newbie Here with a project.......

    Hey all,

I am an avid hot rod and auto enthusiast at the ripe age of 21. I have been around cars all my life, currently work at a rod shop, have driven racecars since i was 8 years old. I just graduated from the University of Washington and have been building my 35 international harvester 1/2 ton pickup since the beginning of the summer. Here are some of the specs for the truck:
speedway motors model T frame with suicide front end, coil over rear, 10-bolt GM rear end, 305 chev with TH-350 tranny. The cab is channelled about 8 inches and will remain with the stock roof (no chop). Due to the fact that these pickups were still all wood structure, i have undertaken a huge project of replacing all of the wood by custom building all steel framework. In addition, i am currently in the process of suiciding the doors. Here are some pics of my ride, let me know what you think.

Looks like a pretty good start.

Which shop are you working for?

    Bob,

I have been working at Retro Rods INC. in lynnwood for 2 years now. It has been a great experience, and we have had a couple magazine features in the last year (a 63 belair in custom rodder, and a 56 chev pickup in custom classic trucks). I started as sort of an apprentice i guess you would say, and became more of a jack of all trades, as I help out in several different areas as needed. However, my degree is in Business Management and I know that soon I will be moving on to pursue a career in this field, as hot-rodding is more of a hobby for me, and not something that I personally would like to make a career.

Eric... It's about time you became part of the CHR family! Here's a BIG WELCOME for you! Your P/U is looking great and it looks like you've been putting some time into it. I'll have to come over and check it out in the near future. I've been wanting to come over and check out the progress on the new swimming pool too!

Again, welcome and I'll see you soon...

Thanks for all the compliments. Mr. Kline, perhaps we can go cruizing when I get the truck done. I am planning on having it complete by the end of the summer.

    Greg,

So "Mr. Kline" was a bit formal I'll admit. I am at Retro from 8-4:30 or 5 Monday through Friday. You are always welcome to come over to check out my truck as well. Just give a ring (i'm sure your wife has our phone number) and make sure that I am home. Bring your working clothes!!!!! Ha, i'm sure i'll be talkin to you soon.

    Eric
