another newbie
Hi,
getting close to 50 I have a cobra replica with 10k miles and currently getting refitted with a 174 blower, new trans, power brakes (grand national) and rr coil overs. Once sorted out and running right I want to add a hot rod of some kind.
Always partial to the mid engine location on the old econolines (mid 60's, pick up or van) I keep looking for one worth the trouble.
A station wagon to trick out (ideally some 56 buick special) or maybe just an older rod w/v-8, 400 & ac. I'd love to find an older hot rod that runs and requires retrofit/updating..(passed on a 35 chevy some years ago and still regret it).
Hey, I could live with this but would go to a more "sleeper" lookin' hood...
Bottom line I'd like a hardtop, with seating for more than 2, automatic, stereo and air - all the things the cobra doesn't have (& will never get!).
Look forward to your insights.
A couple of pics:
Cobra engine pull (it's now back in place...)
and better (as in running!) days...

Welcome aboard 54, and I'd vote for the '63 Fairlane wagon, even with the bubble hood.
You may be a newbie, but you gotta tell me how you got more than one photo on your post.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

wow, I got a '64 four door fairlane in my driveway...I just need to replace a few things on it...mainly the glass...
Definitely good looking cars.So I says to myself, self I says...........
...turning around I noticed I wasn't there... so...who was I speaking to ? and if they didn't reply why didn't I ? That remains my greatest concern to this day

Yeah, a 2 door Tbolt would be great.
Found a two door a few weeks ago, almost bought it and thought about using my car for parts instead...then I noticed the absolutely rotten undercarriage...it was beyond repair (well...technically everything is repairable but...)So I says to myself, self I says...........

Thanks for the words...
Bob, about the photo's, just put them in. My guess is that the post limiter isn't based on number of photo's but size. I take most of my pictures to post to a website so they're pretty low in the quality department - great for the internet, lousy for making prints. Usually mine run 45 to 80 kb (?).

54, regarding the multiple photos. Did you use the control key or some other to select multiple files from your drive for the attachment box then? When I use the "browse" I can only ever choose one file, even with the sizes as you mentioned, it won't allow multiples. Any additional selection overwrites the previous.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

I use the "IMG" button and get a box asking for location "http://..", where I then paste a location - maybe the difference is that the picture is on the internet already, not on my home computer. If you right clicked on one of my pics a list would come up, select "properties" and you'll get a text box that says where my picture is located - check on the ford wagon - it's a photowise picture located at http://a5.cpimg.com/image/3B/65/1162...-014000F0-.jpg
if I choose image and paste this url it will show up in my reply boxed by .
If I pic 'IMG" again I get another one.
Uhm, does this make sense?
I'll post two more just to see what happens again...I hit "img" got a text box, pasted the url location and hit "ok"

Okay, that's it. You're taking images already on the web vs. taking them off your own hard drive. Great! Thanks for the help.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
