hey everyone,
I'm pleased to have found this site. Seems like the perfect place to find advice on how to go about restoring a '73 chevy nova custom. I basically have no clue how to go about it but my dad does, and we could always use some advice.
the nova has been sittin in a yard for a couple of years and i got tired of =seeing such a beaut just sittin there so i offered to buy it. the body is strsight and there isnt too much rust, surprisingly. my biggest concern, body wise, is that the passenger side roof is all bondo.
if anyone could give me some advice as o where i should start and what not, itd be much appreciated.

Are you planning on restoring it or mading a Hot Rod out of it?...

to tell the truth, im not sure exactly what i want from this car.
Ive just always loved classic chevys, and now i have the chance to work with one.
my goal is to just restore it for now, im on a very small budget, being 16 year old student-athlete. and, i dont have a lot of time to work on it. I plan on pullin the 305 and buying, and rebuilding a 350 or a 396.
im not gonna make it into a hot rod, unless we, my dad and i, change our minds. i just wnat it to look like new and run good.
if you could tell me where you would start, that wold be great

Welcome to the club. The 1st place I would start is the passenger side roof, would want to know what kind of surprises are lurking there befor I put a lot of time or energy into much else. If it's some bondo buggy rollover patch up, you would have to replace the roof, which shouldn't be hard to find in a junk yard. I would want to know how bad the worst damage is before I did anything else. Enjoy the project.

sand the area in question down ,and pull the head liner, once you get to look at the back side You'll probably be able to tell how bad this is And if you find a big glob.!....... there is almost sure 2 be more around, Then you have to start to check your frame. "hope fully" its just a failed attempt, at a red neck "moon roof", or maybe a 'ejection seat", don't hit any "odd buttons" just like dave said most things "shouldn't be hard to find in a junk yard" that goes 4 a lot of stuff on that model " even the 4 doors some of the odd stuff will fit " .
