    Fresh Blood

Hey everyone. I am in the process of learning all I possibly can before taking on my first project. I have tinkered with cars a little, but nothing too serious as of yet. I am fairly young still (26) and have alot to learn. My father and I have admired nicely done rods ever since I can remember. Now I have decided to start working towards one. I am a really big fan of the 29-31 Ford sedan delivery. It seems like they are a bit tough to get a hold of though. I have seen a few glass bodies, but am curious about the possiblity of additional chop and channel limitations of glass. Is this possible or something not recomended for a beginner? Thanks for all your help and I'll see you around.

Welcome to CHR. The chop part of a glass A sedan delivery wouldn't be that difficult, depending on how much experience you have working with fiberglass... If you don't have a lot of experience with glass I wouldn't recomend chopping as a first project. Channeling it would be a bit more difficult.

Maybe contact one of the manufacturers of the 'glass bodies and ask them what the charge would be for them to do it? Especially the channeling, it would be easier to relocate the floor during the body assembly rather then have to cut it out of a new car and move it...

Thanks for the feedback. Once it is actually timefor a body, I will certainly try that. I am still holding out for that last hope that I will find a steel body for sale, but if not, I will most certainly talk to a glass mfg and see what comes out of it.

How are your metal working skills? Should be able to turn a 2 door sedan into a sedan delivery...... Would be a fun build !!!!!

I have seen model A two door sedans turned into sedan deliverys by getting an extra door and adding it to the rear of the body----not for the faint of heart, but it has been done, and done very well.
