Hello All
Hi All.
My name is Mick. I live over in a city called Norwich in England UK,
I am building a 1959 Chevy Impala with a 500 Caddy engine and TH400 gearbox + loads of modern goodies, The car is some way off going back on the road just yet but is coming along very well, I have even been able to start it up a week ago and boy does 8200cc with open headers sound good I also own a 1972 Caddy Eldorado convertible and a 1999 GMC Suburban (that’s my every day drive).
I have just bought a company making Mini Hot Rods (tot rods) and at the moment I can build 1932,34 and 37 bodies to full cars have a look at www.minihotrods.co.uk I have sent one of them over to a family in Ohio and they are very impressed with it.
Hope to talk with you guys again soon
Cheers
Mick

Welcome to CHR Mick! Quite a fleet you have started there, the big Caddy engine is a torque monster and it really sounds HUGE with the displacement expressed in CC's! The tot cars are way kewl!! Should do well in helping to get the new project on the road. Keep us updated and post us some pics if you get a chance.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Welcome. I love the turn about of pulling the Chevy and slipping a Caddy in there. These engines are pure torque.
You probably know there is a company (maybe more than one) in the States that makes high performance parts for the Cads? I can't remember the name now, but they have heads, intakes, etc, if I remember correctly. Just thought I'd throw that out there in case you didn't know.

Hello, Mick,
You appear to be well up on things Cadillac, but some months back, when I was putting my 500/TH400 together, Techinspector 1 and Stu Cool put me onto some Cadillac sites that have been very helpful:
<http://cad500parts.com>
<forums.500cid.com>
<http://www.cadillacpower.com/forum/index.php>
<http://www.gmcws.org/tech/caddy_swap.pdf>
Maybe there will be something there you can use.
You will find the most knowledgable and accommodating people anywhere in this group. Welcome!
Jim

Welcome to CHR! Cool looking minis you got there. This guy from England brought us a old 60's or 70's original mini cooper to the shop to redo with a vortec Acura motor in it all redone with MSD, all new hi performance internals, etc etc. AWESOME little car, he said out there in England they put 6.3 liter motors in them!!! That is crazy! They would smoke any car we have here in the US I bet... This one we did is smaller than the new fake BMW Mini Coopers too.www.streamlineautocare.com
