I just wanted to say hello to everyone, prior to picking all of your brains about knowledge that is second nature to you. I'm not much of a mechanic, but I'm learning more every day. After five years of waiting, I found and purchased my project '67 camaro in April. We found a pretty decent car, and already pulled the engine because it had a 'tic' when we bought it. We were planning on rebuilding the engine anyway, so the chipped piston didn't really throw us off that much.
I have a thread in the small block chevy engine room about the current process. The hard part which I've already noticed, is that I'm having a hard time putting extra money into certain aspects of the engine and other parts, because I want to get it on the road a.s.a.p. For now I'm driving my beater commuter car, and can't wait until the camaro is up and running. I've got a 350 that just got bored .040 over. We're starting with the engine, and after that will come the new paint job. I'm looking at going a rust, or copper orange, with gun metal gray racing stripes. The car is just going to be a weekend car, and maybe make it to the drags once in a blue moon.
Anyways I just want to thank all of you who have already given me advice on the engine, and I'm looking forward to updating my project pics on the site.

Welcome to the forum. Yeah, that old money issue (or lack of it) kind of plagues most of us. The time thing is another hurdle to overcome.......it always takes way longer than you expected.
Don't rush it, spend the time and money to do it right or pretty right the first time, because it is more expensive and more work to have to redo things.
'67's are getting to be pretty pricey, so your car is worth the time and effort.
Good luck,
Don
