Welcome. What body are you going to start with? Are you going the traditional straight axle, nose high route?
Give us some more info and I'm sure a lot of folks on here will have some views, as gassers are really cool.
I just noticed your other post, regarding the '55 Chevy. One of my dream cars is to build a two lane blacktop clone. Get a Speedway catalog, all the parallel front axle stuff can come from them, and you won't have to fool around with Chevy truck or Econoline stuff that is 40 years old.

I assume you already know.......but I'll tell you anyway........ that the blue '55 in Two Lane Blacktop became one of the Black '55s used in American Graffitti, so the car starred in both films.

As for cutting up your Chevy, you sort of have to do that to build a gasser. I know some were sort of stock looking with maybe slicks and headers, but when I hear "gasser" and ' '55 Chevy", certain elements come to mind............high stance, hood scoop or blower peaking through hood, tube axle front end, ladder bars, stripped out for light weight, and fenderwell headers. Granted, that is sort of profiling and generalizing, but fits my description. Evidently, you have some idea of what you want, what will yours look like?

Ebay has many vendors selling copies at "buy it now" prices of $15.
How much did Santa have to pay for his sleigh? Nothing! It's on the house! .
