well here is a heart warming story. i had just picked up my sixtyfour t-bird and was driving along and found a man standing by his new vette with the hood up i slowed down and asked if he needed some help. he thanked me and said he had called for a tow and that all should be good. as we talked about his vette [$50,000.00] my old bird rumbled without a hint of trouble [$1,500.00]. we sorta laughed about that and then the mighty blue oval (ford) tow truck came to drag his money pit away..... what a nice story and one our children can learn from... sorry i am getting a little mistyI am the sun...Show me your moon!

If your always playin in the game, its hard to understand the perspective from the bleachers I always pass x-brands on the side of the road with my ford truck, bought it with 120,000 on the odometer and put another 130,000 on it with minimal problems and it never left me on the side of the road.250,000 miles on a bigblock is no small thing, thats import 4 cyclinder type longevity. Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)

The fun part of this hobby is that we can all raz each other about how Ford is better than Chevy, or visa versa, etc etc, and it is all taken in good fun. Fact is, I have owned just about every American and Foreign car over the years and have found all or most of them to be really good.
In my early years I built Olds engines, then went to Pontiacs, then ran a little injected 301 Chevy in an altered, then went on to Fords. Each brand has been great fun to play with and super dependable. I've never owned a Mopar, but would love to have one, especially a Hemi. Right now I sort of am loyal to Ford because it is what I play with the most these days, but I have a 350 Chev in the T and will undoubtedly love it too.
H***, I even owned 5 Corvairs at one time and loved them !!!

That's funny Don, the one car I really would like to have back is a Fiat 600. I had more fun in that car......PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

Richard: I had a Fiat 500, had the headlights on top of the fenders, sunroof that went clear back, and 18 horsepower (18 when it was new, I got it when it was sort of tired) I lived at the bottom of a steep hill and had to get a running start down my driveway, powershifting all the way to build up enough speed to get out of the valley. By the time I was at the top of the hill I had downshifted all the way to low gear, and sometimes had to turn around and get another try at it. But, it was good on gas.

Yes,I know it was a Ford.
The car was called "The Deception".
It had that name because it had a big block Chevy and a "glide" behind it.
The second part of the story was that summer I had battled against the same guy for 3rd in points.
Well that summer the guy that I was battleing against broke his leg in a non-drag racing accident.
I had a thing for his daughter.
After watching her every Saturday sun-bath in her bikini on top of her dad's trailer she add my attention.
Well dear old dad decides she is going to race the car.
After watching her race the car that day and run the valves on the car wearing her bikini between the rounds I was more than a little frustrated.
I ran her in the semi-finals that day.
Of course I got the old red-eye.
I saw her last summer.
She is now 5 1/2 foot tall and 5 1/2 foot wide and has 4 kids.
Hey,I weigh 255 and she might of even had me by a few pounds.
She use to have an hour glass figure now she is shaped like a pear.
We all change.

Richard, Don
I don't recall what year Fiat it was but it was blue and belonged to my brother. He was a little harder on cars than I was. Anyway he kept tearing up U joints. Maybe two or more a week. I was working in a machine shop at that time and he asked if I could make him a U joint. Not knowing what they were I told him I didn't have that type of equiptment there. Then he showed me an old one. All it was was a RAG joint. I took some old tires and made him enough U JOINTS to last till he got rid of the car.Charlie
Lovin' what I do and doing what I love
Some guys can fix broken NO ONE can fix STUPID

Chad says...."It's ok, I learned a long time ago to handicap the Chevy drivers so they don't get their feelings hurt. Its like working with a young child, you dry their tears, tell them they're wonderful, and they go off happy as a clam "
Bet you don't try that crap with Mopars.
Another Ford Guy??? Oh well, welcome aboard Chad. Hope you have found a home.

Don, there was a public park in downtown Charlotte that only had a footbridge to enter. Well, the 600 was just narrow enough and light enough to drive across the bridge and chase the ducks. Great fun.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.
